I'm in tech dev and the pattern I am seeing is the selections are based on location. Southfield, Brecksville, Austin, Indianapolis, etc. Looks like if you are not in a collaboration zone location you are toast sooner or later. Of the seven I know no one received a survey.

Why can't anyone volunteer. Save the stress many would go - given the option.

I am in tech dev and was not given the survey. Was told i am out strictly because of my job title - which ironically isn't accurate.

Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) ─

Information for Employers Per Chapter 4, Part 4, Sections 1400-1408 of the Labor Code, WARN protects employees, their families, and communities by requiring that employers give a 60-day notice to the affected employees and both state and local representatives prior to a plant closing or mass layoff. Advance notice provides employees and their families time to transition and adjust to the prospective loss of employment, time to seek alternative jobs and, if necessary, time to obtain skills training or retraining to successfully compete in the job market. For more information, visit WARN Frequently Asked Questions.

What's the WARN act?

Sorry about the typo: it was around 30 days after Oct 4th (initial approach) that the employees being laid off were notified they were surplus. Surplus was effective 60 days after the laid off notification - this is to comply with the WARN act.

This looks like a repeat of last year. Approximate same time frame. People were told they were in an "affected group" and could be impacted. Around 60 days later people were told they were surplus and there are 60 days to apply and interview for other positions, which I did. I got a verbal offer and then about a week later it was rescinded. It felt like being laid off twice in 2 months.

No volunteering does not improve your severance. It's a percentage based on Years with the company

Recieved email as well. Call at 4pm ET. A lot of my team members received the same email. Not sure how the group will function after we are all gone. I hope the leadership knows what they are doing :)

There is another call this afternoon...

Was on the call under Cundiff, who is under Bloodworth (C&E), for the Program Office. Those on the call are not affected, though jobs will be consolidated or moved around. The call was on a conference line, so you could not tell who was on or not on the call.

There will definitely be surplus conditions for managers.

Good luck.
