Here's an example, my area established new office and new team, within 1 year that team went from 20 wire techs to 7, they are even on a hiring freeze, and to top things off, managers are firing people left and right for stupid crap.....yeah our days are numbered, thanks AT&T for the experience, but your no different than any other big company, you focus only on making yourself richer while screwing your bottom employees, so off to job hunt.

Just wanted to respond to the post from 11 months ago about Prem Techs as a disposable workforce.
I am a Premise Technician. I feel like we are put into a box without future opportunity. I've applied to 14 jobs in the past 2 months. I have a Bachelors Degree, 10 years IT Experience, 10 years Marketing Experience, Veteran. Yet, I never get a call or email for an interview for these other positions. Always a canned email response, thanks for applying but we found a more qualified individual.
I like the company, but my morale is sinking along with everybody else's, especially with all the Surp rumors. Feels like I can't grow with the company and it's a feeling of defeat.
Find a real career
It is a high paid McDonalds position. They don't want or expect anyone to make a career out of it.
Next 300 to be laid off in 3 months
The Premise Technician was created as a disposable workforce. As told to me by an area manager. AT&T never had any intention of retaining them long term.
