Marketing was informed in an all hands call last week that layoffs would commence in the next 2-3 weeks. No numbers were given. When asked if current employees would be hired first to fill new job postings, the presenter laughed and said no - sometimes what we need is new blood.
This is absolutely despicable, @Pft3tzO-6kph. If people getting laid off were those who were not contributing, working their behinds off, I'd understand that. But some of the folks that were let go in the past year are among Wells Fargo's best. Letting them go didn't make any sense in the first place, not giving them a chance to return even at lower pay makes even less.
