Special EISP

Verizon has notified Local 827 that various organizations have a need to reduce force and intend to offer Special EISP. Volunteers will be accepted as necessary to meet business needs. Attached is a comprehensive listing of the surplus declarations.

The Special EISP offers will be distributed to the affected employees beginning on September 18th, 2017. The volunteer period will begin on September 25th, 2017. Volunteers whose applications for Special EISP are accepted will have a last day worked of November 4th, 2017.

Office personnel ONLY. That's the eisp for 2017. So March 2018 I guess is the big one coming that my bosses boss referred to.

That's pretty short sighted of them to not know a year ago that they were going to have a fios/5g rollout. I know in our area, they just completed 2 co's and still have 2 others that were only half completed then they pulled the plug. I hear they are going to complete them next year but haven't heard any new co's to be wired for fios.

They offered it to our garage last year and no one took it. This year, several people would've taken it and they didn't offer it. Why would there be a surplus one year and not the next if no one retires? Doesn't make sense. I guess they'll work another year and take another 80k from Verizon until they offer one.

A whopping total of 38 people out of what over 4000 will be granted the EISP. Good for them!
