The subject line is a reality of att for the past few years. I was let go a few months ago after 13+ years for not hitting my numbers in enterprise sales. Back to that in a moment but it is sad when other people are asking me what's going on when they are still having the bouncing blue ball hit them in the head every day at att. Non-leadership management nor union really know anything because only level 5 and above know what's going on. Last year 4,600 non leadership management were surplused and I envy them but sales management may not know till October like every year also called "Happy Holidays, now get the F...out", time of year. So sales and all, I would suggest do what I didn't do and start looking inside but more so outside the company because you are your only friend there. I could go on forever about the big bouncing ball from HELL but it's expected in these days of do more with less. To my opening statement of being let go, I like so many other successful people were put in a position of failure from so many ways with no recourses, 16 internal changes in 2 years and a segment change but it happens. Its like being stood in front of a mountain and told to tunnel thru it with only plastic spork and this is on all sides of lower management, techs to support people. The 90 days of action plans are long gone, it's now find a way to get the old people out and bring in the outsourced or the Y generation that have to communication skills with MBAs and have them work our 60 hour weeks plus training at a much lesser cost and then watch them leave in a year or so. I was hurt like so many others, working so hard and it really takes a toll on your health and family life. The real sad thing is that leadership does not even know an answer to the simplest of questions. To conclude dear friends, union, support, sales of anykind. If you are not a level 3 or above, don't sweat the small stuff because you will not know it has happened till the bat is swung from behind. It is a new era of none longevity. If the bat does; the sun will rise tommorow your kids will still laugh and you will realize life is grand outside the BIG BLUE WRECKING BALL. All of you are in thoughts and wish you god speed.

Wow, thanks from the last poster. That was very incite full, "I never knew someone that got fired that did not deserve it", you must be in HR or a ops manager or lvl 3 up. What cloud are you in at Bell 1?
I've never seen anyone fired from T that didn't deserve it. Life is tougher on the outside. The pay T offers is tough to beat, you just have to play the game and you will be fine.

You got it right. I went in one day and was escorted to the entrance door by my supervisor who just said goodbye ..........
and not saying why i was being let go.
Trust me what ever goes up must come down and what ever goes around comes around . Just be patient and we will have tbe last laugh.
The Y Generation were the first to go. I was one of them. So were my friends. They got rid of us years ago. I was in Infrastructure and kept trying to push containers and Infrastructure as code, so I was shown the door. The secret at AT&T is you can't be too far ahead of the curve because it scares the old people.
