Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

It’s time to take advantage of tuition aid

This is a business and the company is evolving with technology and they will need less of the human being resource to reach their goal. So let’s face the music and reach in the tool box to become more financial independent. Nothing last for ever despite what the Union would like you to believe. Don’t get me wrong the Union is great for what it role is, but really they don’t control the need of employment that’s the company job. The Union is excellent in negotiating pay, benefits and enforcing the contract that actives. Save some of your money learn all you can from the experience open up your own business but most of all know Att is not life or death It is just a job not a God.

Don't you need to repay? odds if you are in this site, you will be cut.. going back to school? it is okay BUT companies are looking for the Experienced professional, with all the Certifications and added Attributes, and Cheap of course, (clue:Overseas)- we just cannot compete, the companies that used to train people belong in the past, and going extinct fast

It is tough to get ditched by a company. But everyone should always remember. Any where you go, you are simply a number. It doesn't matter what you do, how good you do it or how much you make the company. You are expendable and can be let go at any time with no explanation. I was laid off from a company I made a lot of money for. It was in marketing. Didn't matter! I was a number. Every one is a number and you can be replaced. To think not is foolish! Good luck to everyone.

I would be less frustrated with the company if these layoffs were justified but they’re not. My department is struggling to provide good service to our field partners because there’s less of us but the same if not more work to be done. The layoffs are a result of poor decisions by this companies leadership.
