Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

More Layoffs in November

Just heard from a reliable source there are more layoffs coming in November. Not sure if it will be company wide or group specific. Even if you complete 2020 training, you are not safe

It actually works if your vision is short term and you are not trying to build a successful long term business. It is called the...take the money and run...business plan for corporate executives and hedge fund managers..

WOW

Fix the bottom line by continuing to layoff employees, interesting business model that works until there are no more employees to layoff

It should be interesting to see how AT&T continues to maintain its legacy infrastructure once it completes its downsizing

I’m being laid off to. They have cleared the whole office out. Should I stay to get my little severance package or get a new job ASAP? My first time going through something like this 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m glad thought that Manager was a piece of crap 🤣

i got surplused a few weeks ago. sadly, HR is so understaffed, they can't respond to inquiries that are anything but simplistic. that is total disrespect for individuals. bad enough getting surplused, but to have no one in HR to help straighten out an individuals pension, benefit issues is really crappy.

The Lease expires at 4100 South Stream Blvd., in Charlotte in September 2018 and will not be renewed.

-This has been confirmed by 2nd and 3rd level Management and communicated to the employees there.-

Webphone shows 509 employees at this location.

There are rumors swirling that some employees (groups) will be moving to 2359 Perimeter Pointe Pkwy and others will be moving to the NRC at 9139 Research Drive. However, these are only rumors. No official employee (group) moving plans have been announced by Mgmt yet.

Things are getting so bad now that they are sabotaging people to set up them for the layoff. This company is so sad. I just appreciate the experience and the training they have provided but other than that the culture is terrible

I don't understand why the revenue outlook is so soft after acquisition of TW.

Some folks in Entertainment Group have already been given 'pre-notification' they will most likely be given surplus letters mid-November... One guy I know who said he will get a letter was just promoted less than a year ago. He has high technical skills in IP, etc.... Skill and performance WILL NOT protect you. Revenue is declining across the company, they have no choice but to make and continue to make massive ongoing cuts. My AVP said revenue outlook next year is 'very soft'....

This is the start of the involuntary layoffs and the re-organizational layoffs that were part of the last announcement. The first announcement was for the people that might be impacted and asking for volunteers.

Oh man not even the 2020 training will save you? 😱 Everyone in my department and pretty sure anyone not drinking the koolaid knows it’s pointless b---s---. Same thing with these “nanodegrees”.
