accounting is a LVL5

MSS is a lvl 6

TL's are 7

withing all of these lvl's there are different pay, some get raises,

i.e. 5 year MSS who stepped down to tobacco, (cashier lvl 3), took pay cut, $1.50 paycut, 6 months later went to Desk lvl 4, no pay increase.

1 year cashier, transfer to tobacco cashier, no pay raise, 6 months later transfer to desk, $.50 pay increase for said associates.

both incidents happened the same week, talk to your manager, they can check by pulling you through a req and getting you to a job offer recommendation screen... yes it will take them a few minutes, but if they are considering or do not want to lose you they will spend the 5 minutes.

HMS isnt changing, except they will be making the new TNB pizza's, and quartering the left over rotisseries; and of course always adding new items. only way its going away is if costco goes away with it... to much of a daily trip driver.

COS is a lateral move for an acct TL. one step up for acct associate. you can go into your career preference and see what your pay would be for any job.

I’d double check on pay. The wire has contradicting remarks about that. The severance package says different. Just be sure you get the facts first. Consider being a COS, you’ll actually get a raise. (Seeing how they are a higher level- laughs)

Look on the wire. Displaced associates should retain their hourly pay rate when accepting a new position. Challenge your market team about it. Threaten to escalate.

I totally understand. I'm the full time in our accounting office and have decided to go to night shift. It's a pay decrease but not as much as a floor associate would be. Hopefully it works out!

Yes try it out before you make a decision. I to would hate to see someone loose out in the severance. Talk to your GM if he’s a great manager he will let you try this.

if you have many years to go before retirement then take that severance and put your talent to work elsewhere. it’s better to leave with money in pocket. however if you don’t feel good about finding something else then take it. i too have struggled with the what to do. i’m leaving and the majority that i know are leaving as well. sam’s does not have a long future, my opinion only. this is not a company to build a career with but. if it satisfys your needs then def take the job. as you know if you take it and hate it as most do there’s no going back. the focus on fresh will change in a couple of years and take a new direction. good luck

HMS should be fine as far as longevity. Just make sure you are ok with the pay drop. With the skills and experience of accounting consider finding a new job. The company in my opinion is sinking. See if they will let you try hms for a day. Don’t loose out on your severance just to leave bc you hate your new position. I watched an audit member do that and left a few weeks later.
