DirecTV was purchased because Uverse was such crap, so now AT&T is destroying it with the same level of incompetence. Their management team is beyond hopeless.

whoever said "get out now while you can with dignity." DOH?!? my old ATT manager just got laid off 2 weeks ago, got 1yrs salary plus his bonus which wasn't due until in March.

Otherwise, yes...ATT is a monster...great IT career paths, and since they outsource so much they pay what few employees they have good money to keep things in line....but Randall has said in his speeches, his employees are NOT his most valuable resource, rather his customers are.

If you want to work at ATT, your best bet is to get hired by AmDocs, Dysys, Anderson Consulting, etc....

And just announced yesterday, they are leaving a huge portion of their Atlanta office spaces, moving many things to Dallas and New Jersey. It's weird because they've always had such a huge presence in ATL.

Just so you’re all up to date- hundreds are being laid off. Got the call yesterday that my job title is there too.

We've already cut 24,000+ due to layoffs and attrition. 1Q 2016 we had 280,870 employees. We reported 256,800 in the 3Q 2017 earnings report.

I hear it's only 3,000 company wide this go round. I guess we only have 77,000 more to go in the next 3-4 years, per The NY Times article.

lots of whispering in the hallways by senior management and many late night meeting in the rooms. something BIG is seriously going on and its probably layoffs due to the failed mergers.

get out now while you can with dignity. or else endure the humiliation by being escorted off the premises by the security guards

Let this be a warning to all the AT& T minions, so sad to see DTV a relatively successful company prior merger, destroyed due to T's incompetence, TIME Warner Inc. is next

Truer words have never been spoken. For the record, 99.9% of DTV employees didnt want to come to AT&T and would do anything to go back to the way things were before. DTV was always on the "best of" companies to work for

DTV purchase is a big mistake. This dying satellite TV business is hurting the cash flow and is one of the causes for the layoff to cut cost.

should never have bought DTV. Subscriber base is declining. Why did we buy a dying business? Dumb move.

If you look at T stock, year to date it is down -16.06%. Over the last year, down -9.32%. You have to go back to the three year range to find an increase and it is only 5.42%. The inflation rate for these last three years has been 4.3%. You could’ve done almost as good in a savings account. Surely the board, (of which he is the chairman of I might add) can see where this is headed. With the added debt of the possible TW merger, who knows what will happen to the stock. I certainly don’t see it rising.

Randall is a tyrant. This company is being run on revenue alone for bonus, no consideration for debt. The cost of the growth is revenues will reach a tipping point. There will be ongoing turbulence and layoffs. More layoffs coming, More cuts and flattening of management structure. The whole company will be one big outsourced call center.

ATO will be outsourced, because everyone with any expertise will be gone. No liability for workers, Randall is a genius. Have a totally conceptual company with "content". We don't need any workers we got content.

The only way Randall will be ousted if the stock drops a lot more and then he will get $100M payout nevertheless. We are going to get crapped on but Eandall will be fine. This is the way the world works nowadays.

If Randall isn’t ejected by the board they may soon not have a company to be a board member for. This company is losing a lot of taken to our direct and indirect competition. Bad choices, unhealthy spending habits. I hope Randy has been feeling the walls caving in.
