A CLNR doesn’t count as a claim in the way we defined these terms historically.
Currently if a line is covered by TMP and the device experiences a hardware fault that is covered by the extended warranty component, after the first year of warranty has expired, the customer must work with Asurion for the replacement, because the VZW system will charge a $150 out of warranty fee.
What is not disclosed up front, and wasn’t explained properly to reps when TMP multi device was launched, is that only 3 lines actually get coverage. The first 3 that require a replacement are the ones that get the coverage, until a certain timeframe passes (I don’t recall what the timeline is, a year?) and these OOW replacements count in this scenario. This is why you can add devices to your multi device coverage for additional cost.
I rather doubt that reps won’t receive commission on an iPhone, but it wouldn’t be the first time VZW incentivized its reps to specifically not sell Apple devices. (Remember when the HTC Thunderbolt was better than iPhone 4 because it’s 4G? And when the LG Lucid was the go-to when someone asked for a simple, basic phone?)
