Verlieson has to notify everyone by 11/03 to get them off payroll by the end of the year and be within federal WARN guidlines.
Good luck. May the force be with you.

@9COT. No. It wouldn't trigger the warm notice. I checked for all the stores in NEM that closed and there wasn't a single one posted.
If they change a retail location from corporate to indirect would that trigger it?
The NOC/NRB have been hearing rumors of this for sometime now. They have cut down markets to have individuals monitor more of the network themselves. We shift bid every year for new schedules and we have yet to do that. The new options for schedules are 6-8 people short of what is actually staffed, management has been cut already, other employees are next
VZW cares for the employees hitting the skids before Christmas, that's why they gave us 60 days notice. What a loving caring organization....NOT!
It is a 45 day notice.
They'll have one more to get what they want of the payroll by EOY but they'll keep enough of the "janitorial staff" around to get year end closeouts cleaned up...one more monkey spanking as they ruin holidays for more so they can hire more contractors for '18...reaching for that 60/40 contractor to employee ratio...heard the benefits are sukking in '18 as well. Good riddance of that he!!hole.
I was in the 2015 layoff and we got the 2 month WARN notice...well they paid us to not work for 2 months + the severance package. Which was fine for me as I was going to retire anyway. Our area had 15 laid off and we all got the 'package'.
@1cpc - You are spot on!
The WARN Act only triggers when many people are laid off from a single location (I.e call center closure). Verizon’s MO for years has been to spread the pain across multiple locations, staying below the reporting threshold. Just like they rarely terminate for cause any more. If you’re not performing or Management doesn’t “like” you they just roll you into a RIF instead of having to do the case building, all dirty HR practices.
they laid off around 5000 two years ago and it didnt even make the dollar store news paper
This is incorrect. Verizon rarely has triggered WARN Act notifications because it requires at least 50 layoffs in a single employment site. For a very large site, such as Basking Ridge or Hidden Ridge, 499 employees could be laid off without triggering WARN because that is less than 33% of the total employees at those locations. Do not believe you are "safe" from a layoff or RIF after November 2.
