Still think something could be announced in October for wireless network staff. Hans and his team of dim wits are meeting this week to reorganize the staff. Given the $10 billion challenge they will likely cut a few heads to hand Lomax some savings and look like winners....to earn their fat bonuses.

I also got the letters about SSI application. Looks like VZ has contracted this to a company that is pushing for business.
What is volunteer matching?
I was Riffed in May after 30 years....did anyone else get 2 freaky letters about applying for disability...why would they encourage that and they want a response yeah or nay ....The other thing is I am being told as a Verizon wireless retiree I am not eligible for volunteer matching...something else I did not know.....February means I have to shell out 24,000 for healthcare because I am not allowed cobra which is half the price...Yeah anger management might be my disability..
Ericsson hasn't maintained the Sprint network for a few years. Sprint realized what a huge mistake that was and they parted ways. VZ is having a hard enough time with the contractors and vendors they use now...to outsource the network would be its undoing and HQ knows that.
Hans came from Erikson which is the company that maintains Sprints network. Its only a matter of time before network is gone and he outsources all of it.
The April May RIF was the last of the 2 weeks/yr package. No one is immune when they're on the money hunt.
There are internal job positions posted for switch and cell techs. I highly doubt there will be any cuts in those departments.
Waiting for the Network Operations hammer to drop. Vz staffs Cell and switch techs 4:1 compared to TeMo and ATT.
Well they fired 17,000 in 2016. How did they afford that? Verlieson can't hide everything. The truth is out there.

9k at once. Never happen. They can't afford the severence payouts. The company wants to unload 20k over the next few years. Can't do it all at once because do not have the $$ to pay all the severance package.
Thats a butt load!
A few?...How about 9K out the door in one swoop!
I'm doubtful that anyone would or could be let go in the network side. The network infrastructure is too huge to afford to let anyone go.
