Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

challenge

I would challenge all Sam's associates that have email at work and send an open door note to your market manager and ask about these positions that we are worried about. There is power in numbers and if everyone would send a note I know my market mgr would just freak out and send a red flag up the ladder. The key is to use open door

They don't read their emails anyway. I have been emailing the market team for years. They only respond when it's to something they asked for. This company is a joke. They called me wanting me to come in early because "company" was coming. If they would quit sweeping everything under a rug when home office comes maybe they could see what job cuts actually do.

That's a good way to get your club manager yelled at and you looked down upon. Won't make a difference. Market Managers are just another high-level peon

the very best place to “cut dollars” is with the GM bonus. average 100k in large metro mkts absurd for what little they actually do. keep the asst mgrs it’s peanuts. 80-100 K could certainly keep a few hourly jobs. Sam’s has had their head up their as for way too long. so long sam’s

everyone misunderstood, I know it won't change anything but would hopefully force them to just let us know what is happening so some of us could make plans.....

Open door policy is a joke. Go ahead and write that email and you will be gone quick and no severance to go along with it. You can't change it so just accept it. That's what I am doing

1nhm,

And after all this do you still shop at Sam's and Walmart? Does your family?

Everyone who is complaining should consider spending their dollars elsewhere.

This is true it don't matter, open door won't help The company has been doing cuts every year at this time for years only to bring back smaller salary associates in to the same position two years later. I am a 30yr associate , they just cut my position,my last day is 12/1

Merry Christmas to my family

I missed two days in 30yrs and loved by members &associates. Were is the Respect now ,push us to the corner like a trash can.The cuts need to come from Club Managers who get 80-90 thousands doallers bonus each yr or the CEO and Board members who get millions of dollars bonuses alongside their million dollar salaries but thats not enough for them they got to cut the ones already living pay check to pay check more jobs cut less money spent .

I'm being replace my a big counting machine and 2 part-time. So very sad what greed can do to a person and what they willing to do to other to get that extra buck...

Wal-Mart and Sam's Club DON'T Help the economy like they claim

They only hire part-time and over work them, under pay and

has very big over turned of employees.

If I had started there today I would be gone tomorrow...PS the jobs they say they offer is to set up for failure or/and a big pay cut .

Open door does not help with this type of decision and there is nothing the market manager can do to override corporate and executive plans that are made. This company is stream lining the business which means cuts and more cuts at club level to focus more on e commerce to grow future sales and profits and to compete with Amazon the voices and the value of the associates does not matter like it used to!
