In response to these posts, There are exceptions. As a Membership Champion, I taught all of the cashiers and the COS that would listen how to sell the credit and the plus membership. I helped produce 3,000 to 4,000%. People like me that actually did their job should have received a raise....Not being put back down as a cashier. Now, as a result the store suffers for credits and plus either when I am off from work or with the other top producers that I trained are off. People that produce results should be given merit raises. Cos that are unhelpful, rude, and give mean looks to cashiers should be demoted back to a cashier. Sam's Club is losing money for having lazy people who do not care work for them.

Oh please do. I don't wish anyone to get layed off but still... why all the talk about the lead getting eliminated and not the champ! This is crazy. When marketing got let go back when we had a business rep, benefits coordinator, etc that's when they should of let that job go. Membership isn't a big push right now but I still think a lead is needed over the desk. This is where all club issues end up. My desk has to fix it. When my associates can't they call me. Also, my club manager put me in charge of comp Shopper, Club pickup, truckloads, and similar tasks. Yes she knows I can take the responsibility but I know all marketing leads don't do these tasks.
Totally agree level 6 pay and they get nothing. Basically stand by their buddy and chat all day. Our member champ wont lift a finger to even help cashiers move merchandise. They need to eliminate and put them as cashiers.
memb champ should be deleted job. serve absolutely no purpose. they sell nothing with more time spent walking up and down chatting with cashiers or moving product from belt to cart. if on a register they have to use another cashiers number. sorry useless for the money level.
Easily the most expendable position in clubs outside of the entrance greeted now that no cards are needed shown to get in.
It’s basically a glorified cashier why pay them more? Most likely getting cut
At our club the member champ is tasked with getting credits, credits and credits. That's all they do or help member services when they're no-staffed.
They don't get plus anymore the market is saturated. Would be better use, if they put them back as cashiers.
We haven't had a memberchamp for awhile and there is no urgency to get one, therefore it wouldn't surprise me if it is eliminated.
