Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

on notice

we need to put this company on notice and ask for a union. Even though I don't really care for them at least the long term associates would have some protection. Odd that they didn't have a grass roots survey , not really they already know moral down in club and don't want the club managers to take a beating

P0NkPFv-nafm. sorry but you’re a short term assoc . this survey is absolute bs and NO ONE gives a flip about it. if you really think it matters and your voice is heard tell me what changes you see in 6 months that are positive coming from this.

If you're all slowly losing your jobs anyhow, what do you have to lose by voting in a union?

You can at least scare the crap out of them during the vote.

Union is probably the only word that makes Sam's and Walmart pants peeingly scared.

The AES survey is being done at different times for the clubs throughout the 3rd quarter. Ours starts next week. I've been with Sams for over 25 years and things sure have changed but we aren't the only business out there that changes. Not sure what Sam Walton would be saying if he were still alive. Sometimes I think we need to back to the basics but the world is so automated right now that this will never happen.

Union! it will NEVER happen. whether it even tries to get in, if only a dept in a walmart, that dept will not exist or at least not as you know it. look at the fresh meat at w/m. no meat cutters for years now. all prepackaged and frozen. they just put it out. if they tried the tbc it would cease to exist. so be it a dept or entire store boom gone just like that. best to keep the union talk silenced for several reasons. now days a union is useless. back in the day it was to protect the employees from which there were no laws but now the govt has put laws in effect. no matter union or not a huge company will always have the upper hand

Don't ever think Walmart/ Sam's Club will unionize!!!!! You must be a newbie or you would already know what happens when a store or club starts talking like that. BOOM!!! It is closed, doors are locked, everyone laid off.

We need to stop pissing and moaning and get back to work. I moped around for months worried my MTL position would be eliminated. No more! I am a damn good worker again.

I was told our AES would be in about 6 weeks. This confirms that yes they are breaking it up.

We had our grassroots a couple weeks ago. Funny seeing how we are one of the main ones loosing people. From what I was told it wasn't good.
