So apparently many people are posing as me, coach 22, giving dates and freaking people out. People can be so cruel!!! I have only identified on this thread and then just now on another thread stating the same thing. I guess because I used a name and said I would let you all know when I know, others are taking that to mess with you all. I'm so sorry!! In all the layoffs thus far, I've only found out the evening before or morning of. Definitely not days or weeks in advance. I'm sorry others have taken this opportunity to mess with others who are stressed. I have NOT heard any dates yet.

For those of you who mentioned you are looking for other job possibilities just in case, don't forget about LinkedIn. Building out a network just increases your chance of hearing about companies or jobs you might nor have thought of.

On a positive note, if the notice doesn't come until the end of the month, that gives us a few more weeks to look for work while still getting paid. My breaks and my lunches are spent scouring for jobs and sending resumes.

I am trying to stay positive through this as it helps me mentally and helps my teammates when I can be positive rather than bashing Humana. Negativity breeds negatively and leads to discourse and unhappiness. This is such a trying time for all of us and I don't want to be that one person to knock the wind out of anyone's sails. As bleak as it all looks right now, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. Whether that means being released from a job that causes undue stress or finding a new position where you feel appreciated and wanted. Maybe this is a jump start or kick in the pants for those who are truly unhappy but didn't have the motivation to do something about it. Maybe a window will open up for some with the opportunity of a lifetime. Maybe someone will now choose to go in a completely different direction career wise, one they felt they would never have the chance to do. There is always hope, you just have to find it!

Last poster, I can tell by your post you really connected with your colleagues, coach and members. Chances are, any place you end up will be lucky to have you. I know that's only a small comfort, if any, but I wish you the best.

I awoke this morning for the 6th consecutive morning with a knot in my stomach. I'm trying so hard to keep this situation in perspective, remain focused, encourage others and really all i want to do is cry. I'm going to miss my teammates, my Superhero coach, the wonderful Humana family but most of all i will miss my members. Today it took everything in me not to "feel" a certain way, 5-6 new PHCs within the last year for some. Logically of course i understand the business side of this, i do. But in my heart i genuinely feel as if my experience with Humana was so beautiful...at first. Then there were "tweaks" here and "tweaks" there, that began to irritate the members and severely and adversely impacted our ability to engage the members. I had no specific destination with this post but i feel so lost right now. THIS is the only place I've found solace since our meeting last Friday. I have never posted on here but i felt safe enough with you guys to post my "stream of consciousness". ✌😰😡😉😞😀🌀😢

I was told that the announcement of who/what will be towards the end of the month, keep doing the best you can, expect the worst, plan for the best. Start looking for another job sooner rather than later, since the stress and lack of control can cause you stress and lack of control

So I'm thinking we need to stop feeding the chicken poster. It's going nowhere and, to use their words, paying attention to them is "not helpful."

"I used to be like you until I figured out that it was a waste of energy to be so dramatic..."

Who are you talking to, poster? Who are you calling dramatic? The people on this thread that are trying to make sense out of this? The ones overwhelmed? The ones upset? Those are normal reactions to this year of job instability and scary surprises, this impending job loss for so many. Get off of your sanctimonious high horse and let others express themselves here.

Not angry, just realistic. I used to be like you until I figured out that it was a waste of energy to be so dramatic and negative. It served no purpose and got me nowhere. I look for opportunity while those around me waste time whining to anyone who will listen. And I'm not cold hearted or mean. I have feelings too. I wish you the best and hope you find happiness. This too shall pass.

I have experienced more hardship than most of you could even begin to imagine and I completely agree with the fact that the "doomsday" approach helps no one! We are all facing a traumatic loss of jobs, no one is taking that away from anyone but take it from me all this hatred for Humana won't help you get through it or find a new job. I hope everyone finds their own peace in this terrible time!

You may want to look in CRD for community resources in the area to help you through this time, or reach out to an HCMSS for ideas? They deal with this all the time for our members

Good advice. The job hunt can be challenging but can lead to a very rewarding result. I'm waiting to hear back after a recent interview and am excited. It's scary but hopefully will lead to good things.

I saw this comment on another thread and it made sense: taking power in a powerless situation...what can you control? We can't control programs, vision, direction, pilots, staffing. We can control and empower ourselves to not wait for the boom to fall, but to be proactive, start looking, appreciate the severance, and get out to whatever we can for more stability. The reality is it will probably pay less, but I'm not going to let someone control my future, when I still have options and choice. I'm looking and if it happens, I'm prepared, if it doesn't, I'm still looking, because the sinking ship for salary is not worth the security of peace of mind

Wow you are quite the judgmental chicken lady (or chicken man).

People are having a tough time. They know the world won't end but they are having a tough time. No need to dictate to them how they should and should not express their feelings. People are overwhelmed - justifiably so. If they feel like things are chaotic, who are you to tell them to keep it to themselves, that they are being dramatic or that their views should be coldly dismissed. Let people speak here.

The sky is not falling. Get some perspective. If you are layed off you will find another job, eventually. Fact- the world will not end if you lose your job. You will recover. Please stop with the chaos statements, they help NO ONE.

Shoosh you chicken little person. Who are you, you creepy creep? Real people. Real world. Real emotions. Who are you helping by name-calling? Maybe some people don't feel like being positive. How about that? Maybe some people need to vent their frustrations. How about that? I happen to know for a fact that every member of the Humana team is caring, educated, excellent people skills. But we are not happy right now and that's part of being authentic. It is clear to anybody that these folks joined and worked at Humana because there was something that they liked about it. Now they are angry, sad, disappointed, fatigued, and in a state of utter limbo. Please stop calling the people names. And..... by the way.... the sky is clearly falling. People have families, mortgages, utilities, medical bills and it feels like their whole world is collapsing and they don't even know when or where and it is making them physically and mentally ill. Show a little empathy.

Coach 22 here. Boy has this thread taken a turn. I personally felt this thread was about wanting more info if we had it. I never felt it was complaining about Humana. I personally love my job but fear the future. It's not chicken little when you've been told there will be cuts and you've seen co-workers let go. Just my two cents. Still no updates on my end but ya all know I'll post it here if/when I hear anything.

The chicken littles are those with their doomsday attitudes stirring up these boards and causing more fear and distress than needed. It is not helping anyone. Please enlighten me as to how that helps anyone! Because they are able to vent. Pretty selfish if you ask me. You feel better while making other panic? Fantastic! Wouldn't it be great if you called 911 and instead of the dispatcher being calm and collected, he panicked and began telling you everything that could go wrong and how much he hates everything. They are trained to do the opposite for a reason! Because it helps NO ONE!

I absolutely appreciate anyone who comes on tells what they really know about what's going on rather than sheer speculation and doom and gloom. There are people so wrought with anxiety and stress that they can't eat or sleep and then them come in here for some information and people go on and on about the sky is falling. How management is going to close this program, they are going to let everyone go, they hate us, they want to make us suffer, they are evil. Those comments are unnecessary! The comments that we are all worried and how hard this is for all of us are very warranted and bind us together as a group. Constantly complaining about a job that you are suddenly afraid to lose even though you seem to despise everything about it and think the company owes you, puts a bad taste in the mouths of those who actually like what they do and are thankful to be here.

And yes I can scroll on by....there is a whole lot of scrolling and not much stopping these days!

Wow... the person with the "chicken little comment" I agree with what everyone is saying except nobody said you're a f---ing jerk!!

Let people talk to each other on here. It's anonymous and maybe people don't feel comfortable talking in team chats or have friends at work to share their feelings with ...

keep venting and sharing your feelings friends!! We're all in the same boat!!

I am very shocked by the banter in this post. Most of us have empathy for those worried that they may lose their jobs. Coach 22 has the strength to post and help those who would like to know more. Kudos to you. I agree with the posts that if you don't like the way this thread is going, don't read it or respond. Better yet, start your own post about what you want to hear and leave the rest of the posters who you have called "chicken littles" alone.

There are always going to be people who go to extremes on all sides, from folks who feel wronged by the company to folks who dig their heels in with the "rah rah Humana" cult speak - the latter more seen on team chats than here. Live and let live, don't get so worked up by others' viewpoints, don't order them to "get off this site," and simply use whatever information you find here however it helps you. Not so hard.

On for heavens sake, saying you are worried about the layoffs is not what I consider complainers or Chicken Littles. It's the ones who hate the work, hate their manager, think upper management is just out to screw them over, it's one big conspiracy to end the program and so on. People are rightfully scared of losing their jobs. However the rest is a waste of time! Perhaps you can start an anonymous job venting site. It might be quite profitable!

The people complaining about people complaining are worse than the original complainers - at least the original complainers have a legitimate gripe, after being told there is a good chance they are about to lose their jobs. The ones who get on here to bash others on here - what sort of "information" are you providing? None, you are just adding to negativity.

Try some empathy, some tolerance for different opinions, some old fashioned kindness toward others who may be overwhelmed by recent events.

People being told that there are about to be major layoffs and reacting are not chicken littles, they are reacting to a very real situation. They do not need to get off of this site.
