Do you see more layoffs after 2q results being in Sept or waiting till Jan? Wouldn't they want to keep the stores around till Jan even the smaller slower stores bc of how profitable our holidays are? Any rumors about future layoffs or store closings?

Has anyone heard of the stores converting to indirects? I've seen of other regions, but not any here (southeast).
Layoffs is not the cost of doing business, layoffs are the results of poor leadership decisions and poor management of the company. Either too many people were hired too quickly, leadership did not anticipate changes in the business or impacts of competitors or they spent too much money and did not achieve adequate ROI.
Employees lose jobs when there is bad leadership and those leaders should be held accountable. Period.
There will be more layoffs. Its just the cost of doing business. However for the foreseeable future, Solution's Specialist, will not be laid off.
My advice to anyone working at the store level right now.....use Verizon for everything they're worth. Meaning take advantage of the tuition payments they offer. Pick a new major and let Verizon pay for it. That way when you are laid off you'll have an education to help you het something else.
Oh and the major has ro to business related.
We closed more than 30 wireless stores the last 4 months.
I don't think there will be mass store closings where many locations close all at once. I do think there is a store reduction number that leadership wants to see happen. And that number is to be achieved through store closures or transferring a store to indirect on a store by store basis. This is already happening as some select authorized retailers have been opening stores that look very similar to Verizon company stores and the new store design is one that can easily be assumed by an indirect if they chose to move it over to them.
So to summarize, store closures will continue slowly, quietly on a store by store basis. No one is safe at Verizon including store employees.
Does that include more wireless store closings?
Annual round of layoffs in October as always. Notified in October, off payroll by end of year. This is an annual routine everyone knows this.
