We were one of the first Sears stores to go through the transformation. We are now a smaller footprint because jewelry, apparel, footwear, and electronics were eliminated. The company continues the transformation process and as they convert more stores to the transformation model they continue to either completely eliminate or severly downsize jewelry, apparel, footwear, and electronics. If any of these employees in these departments remain they are made hardlines commissioned salespeople or cashiers with no lead positions.
Thank you for the info, @Oo0jOwE-tyf. This is what I was afraid of, as our store is about to go through similar transformation. I knew they'd be cutting and reducing stuff, but not this much. Anyhow, good to know.
