Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T end of August RIFs?

So in Business Sales the Global Group-(formerly Signature) was told a couple of weeks ago that a RIF was forthcoming and that they would receive a letter by 8/31/17. Last week the USM's were given notice and many that were mobility centric were given their walking papers -out the door in 21 days and take your severance, or stay on for 2 months -look for a job and take 50% of your severance-with the 2 months you stayed on counting towards the 50%. Have heard that AT&T wants the RIF employees off the books by the first week of November, so one would expect that with the 60 day notice required by the WARN act that more notices should go out in the next couple of weeks. Previous RIF notices were given in September and employees had 90 days to find a job and were gone by December 31st, Also heard that today the maximum severance you can get is 6 months-based on tenure, and that in 2018 AT&T is looking to drop the maximum severance to 3 months. I'm seeing the subtle signs of the reorganization in my group taking shape, but would rather not comment on those particulars. Good Luck All

people in this segment are not very bright ...this is a placement segment from surplus status, short training and most are out before the 2 year mark, like a revolving door

And for those who are super sensitive to typos, Scientists have found that people who constantly get bothered by grammatical errors online have "less agreeable, less open and more likely to be judging others for their mistakes than everyone else, in other words "toxic personalities ", than those who just let them slide.

it takes a particular type of person to constantly point them out to others, while ignoring the overall context of the message altogether

The research has been published in PLOS One.

These two categories of employees are currently employed by bigT:

The ones that Dont know that they are bad.

The ones that Don't want to know that they are bad or don't care.

The ones that used to care arelong gone, that why they can't do anything well.

@1bsu: you may want to consider learning how to spell before bashing someone else’s education. 😏

This group is one of the most TECHNOLOGIY Uneducated and unskilled teams, I had the misfortune to support in the past, almost 100% without technology degrees, mostly ARTS DEGREES

So funny, now the severance is 50% if you stay the 60 days? If this is true affected employees are so screwed after working a lifetime. And don't forget to sign the release waiver f you want that Money
