Guys and gals, this is a layoff board and a valuable tool for many of us. Stop the vague posts. If there are big layoffs in the future and you are privy to the departments get the brunt, chirp up. This isn't a site to be vague and have people ask a million questions. That's not helpful. Let's work as a unit.

The previous post is correct. My group was notified and most accepted the early leave. I'm off the books in September. I can't say I'm happy about as I have been with the company for 20 years plus. I have seen my colleagues leave that started with me and knew my day was near. Best of luck to all. (I will not disclose my location) for obvious reasons. You can take this news with a grain of salt but be aware that more and more jobs are being sent to Mexico.
So in Business Sales the Global Group-(formerly Signature) was told a couple of weeks ago that a RIF was forthcoming and that they would receive a letter by 8/31/17. Last week the USM's were given notice and many that were mobility centric were given their walking papers -out the door in 21 days and take your severance, or stay on for 2 months -look for a job and take 50% of your severance-with the 2 months you stayed on counting towards the 50%. Have heard that AT&T wants the RIF employees off the books by the first week of November, so one would expect that with the 60 day notice required by the WARN act that more notices should go out in the next couple of weeks. Previous RIF notices were given in September and employees had 90 days to find a job and were gone by December 31st, Also heard that today the maximum severance you can get is 6 months-based on tenure, and that in 2018 AT&T is looking to drop the maximum severance to 3 months. I'm seeing the subtle signs of the reorganization in my group taking shape, but would rather not comment on those particulars. Good Luck All

Exactly! If you are going to post something of this nature, you need to divulge which departments, which location, and how credible your source is!
