No Help

Been a while for me to need to call tier 2 for help. Where are all the old school DMS people at? What happened to them, the person i spoke to was clueless. This company is going down the shi**er.

The only people left in the Enterprise group are the brown-nosers, who don't know crap.

I worked with tier 2 on a lot of mux and carrier issues over the years and they were very good. I was an OSP engineer building rings and litespans and they would always help. During last strike I couldn't find anybody that knew anything. This is what happens when people aren't respected and they leave and are never replaced. You can't have knowledgeable people around because they have opinions and we can't have dissenting opinions now can we ?

Gotta love how back in the day, most of the network gear was designed to last 40 years to align with the Bell System's depreciation schedules. That means most gear probably only has 5-10 years left.

The old-school DMS folks (the majority based in Long Island) were told to relocate to Cary, NC.

(This is the way VZ gets their headcount reductions aka forced relocations)

Of course, with all their years of service, they laughed and retired. They worked well with both craft and mgt. There are a few DMS translations folks (not Tier II) who could help.

Funny how these 35 year old Nortel DMS Brown Cabinets are still chugging along!
