After working 29 years for Verizon and surviving 12 years of rifs I couldn't get a rid the last two years. I was in wireline and every rif we had more responsibility heaped on the engineers. Completely demoralizing year after year but you hang in there and work 60 hours a week to make deadlines and you are still treated like Uncle Mike who never wants to leave. I just retired at the end of February on my own without a rif pkg that I certainly deserved after carrying these sorry Aholes for years. The Gatt rate was starting to climb significantly for the rest of the year costing me a full years salary if i waited for a rif that never came. Do what you have to do . If you are still working kerp your eye on the Gatt rate if pension eligible. Dont worry about leaving these ba $tards short handed they would flush you in a heartbeat.

quit if you are so dissatisfied and stop waiting for a dang handout. There are people who would have done damn near anything to have the job you are keeping warm because you are too lazy to search for something that is more your level or where you can be lazy and still get paid. What a waste, how did you even get hired?

There is no problem complaining about a company like Verizon that treats both customers and employees like crap. I having nothing positive to say about my former employer and hopefully there are thousands of complainers like me who will hurt Verizon. Because they deserve to go down.

You think there is stability at Verizon? Nothing is farther from the truth. But keep kissing your managers a$$ as you have already admitted and maybe you can end your misable career there. Or maybe you won't. I would say the odds are not in your favor.

Verizon was a great company when i started. Pay was good, benefits were good and we had good leadership. The exact moment everything started going downhill is when that jackass Mcadam became the CEO. From there it was layoffs after layoffs, quotas increasing like crazy, job descriptions changing and workload increasing. I get it businesses are here to make money i know that we all know that, but seriously enough was enough im not just some Joe nobody that clocks in for 8 hours to work myself to death for less money i made the previous year. Frontline workers are the reason that a--hole has the bonus he does, the frontline is the reason the company is in the position its in today. Show some damn respect and take care of your employees. Verizon workers deserve better.

Shame they don't realize it themselves.......

"Even if I'm just a number, I'm going to be the best damn number that I can be. Nothing is forever, and you either embrace change and s--- up to leadership in exchange for a place in the company or you get RIF'd. If you're willing to do whatever it takes to keep your employment at Verizon, you will maintain it. If you think of us as being inferior, at least we will still get a paycheck."

Whatever it takes to keep employment? Oh so you must be one of the many jackoffs that mislead customers into buying those hums and tablets that they don't need. There are far more important things in life than a paycheck. I rather keep my dignity and integrity and go without a paycheck before i stooped to your level.

"Boo hoo. I have to do more and I don't want to. The execs are making more money and I'm jealous. I am entitled to work no more than I want to. I deserve my pay and to keep this job doing what I do for as long as I want.

Lazy, entitled. Soon to get riffed. Thank goodness. Go spoil some other company."

lol someone clearly has never worked for a real company. Kiss your leaderships a-- all you want it won't change a damn thing. Verizon loves people like you always willing to take it up the a-- and never question it. This is why Verizon will never unionize cause of people like this.

My advice to you is never leave Verizon because you're not ready to see how companies really treat their employees and what its like to get paid more for doing one job rather than less for doing several. Crazy world we live in

How much is severance pay for a solutions specialist for each year with the company? Or rif package?

@OLxrAmO-1zca First of all calling out sick when you are not sick is stealing sick time period. Now you go ahead and sound ridiculous defending that.

The problem is that you want to complain, instead of accepting VZ for what it is and working the system for security and a continuing paycheck. You call it weakness, I call it stability. I'll take stability every single day.

You don't even know the OP posting, and you just sound ridiculous. First off, sick time is allotted to everybody so you can't steal it.

Repeat after me, I AM JUST A NUMBER, I AM JUST A NUMBER. Verizon does not care about front line and middle managmanet. Trust me, I know. Your Manager may care about your if your lucky but no one above them cares about you or your family and will cut your pay and eliminate your job as soon as is beneficiary to them.

"Dude, you're getting paid. Asking you to do more in your workday is not criminal. Requiring you to do more to get your bonus is not evil. We don't like it, but that is life. This is happening everywhere, not just at VZ."

Firstly no it doesn't happen everywhere. Your job title expands to other departments/areas you get compensated properly. At VZW you take it because you have no balls to say otherwise.

Remember while you're co workers are getting laid off and your workload increases and you're expected to do more and more without compensation and have your quota increased your grand CEO and his posse take in bonuses and have a nice golden parachute in the waiting thanks to people like you.

do just enough not to get canned and drain VZ for every cent you possibly can. Get the RIF package and cancel all your lines as soon as you walk out the door too.

The diaper changing station waste bins in the bathrooms at Verizon must absolutely be overflowing every day. I've never seen such babies crying and sulking over being asked to work to make a company successful.

Lower down your crib bar......grab your blanky.....pop that pacifier in your mouth. and leave if it's just too much for you to do cry, baby.

2017 work goals just to meet requirements went to unreachable levels for techs on repeaters. We r ALL being targeted for rifs.

Even if he was putting zero effort a better question would be why put any effort at all? The company just makes it harder and harder to hit quota every month, removes half their staff and dumps more work load on you without compensation and at the end of the day you're just a number to them. You have leadership that continues to rake in bonuses for themselves and purchase all these dead companies and when it comes time to pay up they get rid of the frontline just like that.

There are companies out there that see employees as an investment and do everything they can to teach them, support them and care for them. Verizon isn't one of them.

On it looks like Captain Kool Aide is on this thread. Lol. Don't worry, when your position is emliminated, or your quotas are raised so unrealistically high that you can't make money or are PIPPED out, you will awake from your kool aide drinking haze and realize that Verizon has used you. This once great company is being ran into the ground. #NotProud2BVZW

We can't wait for your RIF also....You've done nothing but take advantage of your employment here at Verizon.....Theft of time....Theft of supplies.....You cost us a fortune in medical and not to mention the "sick time" you stole. You put zero effort into working and was a true Champion at complaining.

The only thing I am not happy to see you leave with is the pension we have to pay you for weighing the company down carrying your dead weight for these years.

Good Riddance you complete wasteful BUM!
