My comment about "not that far" was directed at -1xjv post about disgruntled employees, not at those folks getting scr+++ed by plant closure.

It's easy to say it's "not that far" when you are the one not making the drive. It's an hour with no traffic and there's always traffic. How about you add a couple extra hours to your drive each way and then claim "it's not that far".

Is this official? Can someone post the announcement?

it's 52 miles from one plant to another and most live south of the Sarasota plant. Either they drive to CLW or they are out of a job. No layoff package for those that choose to not make that drive.

Sarasota ain't that far from Clearwater if you have a grudge, but interesting spin on a documented tendency for HQ's to be moved near where the new CEO lives or wants to live.

You gotta wonder if this plant is going to be closed because it is possibly the closest one to where DC intends to live for the rest of his life?

You see this in other corporations. They move the HQ to a city where the main upper management/executives don't have to be scared of R&F employees close to them in case they have any ideas/rebellion. Case in point, Boeing. There was no Boeing facility in Chicago but it doesn't matter now, they've moved to near D.C. where there also isn't a Boeing facility (known to me, Other than "Black" stuff.

These executives make a career out of "Dikking" people over, so they do live with "fears".

Wasn't this was the site that angered the prior CEO when he showed up unannounced about 5pm on a Friday afternoon so he could justify a "business trip" on the company jet while trying to build his big mansion nearby, and the guard didn't know who he was? The beginning of the WFH ban?

Looks like they are consolidating aerospace I Clearwater and some other plants. The signs are clear, but there will be lots of pains before we get to a steady state.

I heard it was only Aerospace as well. "No jobs lost because of this" is the spin, but I'm sure they are counting on some leaving because they do not want to drive, nor move up here.

I know that is the ultimate goal, but I heard they are only moving Aerospace business. All other SBG are going to stay in Sarasota
