Solution for LowL. Fire entire leadership team. Promote the next level. When they fail, fire them and promote the next level. Eventually you will promote people who can lead and know the business. You will then have only 1 problem remaining. Fire yourself. All problems solved and your VZ stock will climb making you much richer than today.

Trump will save us with a wall or something huge. You betcha! I am full of faith that our Savior, Lowell, will arise from the ashes like a Phoenix blazing a path of... Who am I kidding we are f#ckd. No lube and raw and by a monster c#@k! Those of you with a smile on your face right now, don't think of the size. Just don't. You are thinking of it now. You can't stop. You won't stop.

Place is a trainwreck. I stay to see how much lower it can go lol.
You can't promote from within... You will only get the same results. All people at higher levels have had the koolaide.....lol. A once proud company reduced to nobody cares anymore...sad... And all the root cause of employee misery is generated fro Director levels and up... Never seen this place so damn miserable
@1wdw You hit the nail on the head. Not only is management ill equipped to compete, they're also delusional which is the real reason verizon continues to fail. There's plenty of talent sitting on the bench. Good leaders are honest enough to admit what they don't know- and wise enough to find those who do. Its the culture.... Let Rome burn.
@O8iWPz2-1hgb ""Management always rises to the level of their incompetence" is better known as the Peter Principle. Your prof may be smart, but he didn't come up with that observation.
There's a related idea. Companies fire poor performers, and strong performers get frustrated and leave. The mediocre are left and float to the top.
No. Everything is fine. It's smooth sailing. I have this trendy clothing guy blasting "Better Matters" ad nauseam and a frozen chicken guy cooking the books, instead of chicken. We'll turn it around once we get this Verihoo!, AOL and a hodge podge of telematics companies we acquired, and are now in the process of gutting, off the ground. Not sure what we are going to get, but if you buy a bunch of cool tech companies (even if they were cool 20 years ago) in exchange for billions of debt on the balance sheet something amazing has to come out of it right?
Besides, my ace in the hole is Marni! Since GO90 was a HUGE success, she's now working on paid TV! Because paid TV is the next big thing!
Don't worry, this time next year VZ is DOW 30 Top Performing stock! Long on VZ!

Unfortunately I like the idea but I learned something from a very smart professor when I was in business school. "Management always rises to the level of their incompetence". That means that a first level manager might not necessarily make a good director and a good director might not make a good vp and so forth. Being a senior leader requires strategic thinking and strategy. They don't need to know how to splice a cable they need to know how to create a balance portfolio of products that are attractive to consumers.
Prior to market saturation when wireless services were selling themselves, Lowell and Co. developed a mindset where they could do no wrong. Now that they face competition, they're clueless. That they think they can up go against the likes of Facebook and YouTube is delusional. That they think a group of rich old people can come up with services attractive to millennials is hilarious.
Verizon is the next enron, everybody will lose ,just watch, they dont know what their doing, they are just buying up a miss mash of companies, maybe its theor plan to caise a large bankruptcy and all the employees get screwed...
Stock tanking
Underperforming numbers
Losing customers
Costly and questionable buyouts
Yeah why question leadership I'm sure they will just layoff more people.
Wake up people its a sinking ship why go down with it?
I agree Leadership Must Go!
And when we begin to PROMOTE FROM WITHIN!
We may be able to compete again.
Until then Sell your stock before you take more of a hit.
leadership must go. we are reaching a point where the business will not recover if we dont change course.
Steady boys......Steady........we're in a bit of a dip here but nothing our eyes haven't seen before and we've made our way out time and time again. It's only the weak ones that lose their heads in times like this and it's the strong that survive to cherish the Glory.
Hang with me boys and cherish the Glory with me.
Blowell couldn't lead a team of burger flippers.
Lowell is a brilliant leader that will take Verizon to new stock highs.
IF you folks thought the STI s---ed last year, just wait till this year's resu;t .... assuming any of you are still eimplioyed at Verizon.
These cuts would save major dollars, increase morale and the stock climbs. Win win win.
More cuts
