Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Don't be fooled

The union is trying to stop the cut of 30% of the workforce which include rcs, asm, and rsm. For those managers in the non flagship stores or stores of the future the strike is to help you out. For those in flagship store if you get transferred to the lower volume store you will be cut, for rsc it will be by seniority, for all else it will be up to the dos and arsm. It will start by January 2018, this is why att will not agree to keep a ratio for corp to ar stores.

The union could give two sh--s about the ASM's + RSM's.

If you took the 2020 training you would know already about AT&T's plans to close stores. It isn't some breakthrough your union discovered. You're acting like they did all this detective work and figured out the top secret plan lmao.

You guys on this site are worse than the kool aid drinkers

On the call union said att was looking to get rid of all cor stores by 2020 and have a few flagship stores or giant cor store similar to Apple.

For the 30%, att had agreed to a lot of the unions demands but did not want to put in writing any sort of language that prevent them from eliminating jobs. Union refused to negotiate unless that was on the table.

That's where we stand right now.

Att is trying to barter with training employees and educating the existing workforce but lets be honest here. We have reps barely any education beyond Highschool and refuse to even take advantage of the current tuition reimbursement. Retail stores for the most part get new employees and rarely does one stay in the same store for longer than a year or so. The few reps that are 5+ years are pretty much stuck in their ways.

Like others have said, take advantage of the tuition reimbursement while you can. Get into big data and cloud computing or software design because that's where the market is going. If you only know how to sell, it's a good time to learn how to write a program that can sell because that's where we are heading.

Where is this data coming from? I'd don't mind the arbitrary guess, but I would hope it is an informed and educated claim that can be substantiated with facts, otherwise, you are fueling fear and anxiety into an already volatile atmosphere.
