Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Can anyone think of a more pathetic job than AT&T retail management

Seriously it is the biggest collection of ugly losers Ive ever seen. At least most reps are young and in school. They have a future. Managers have self importance and undying loyalty until theyre replaced with AR. Theyve already said on record 75% of workforce will have engineering, math or programming degree by 2020. There is not one manager smart enough to earn those degrees. Dont worry though, ATT manager will look great on your McDonalds resume.

The most pathetic job is definitely an SSR. I imagine they walked at a 100% clip.

AR is not the final plan, not sure why people think this is true.

The original plan was to close down stores that were underperformers, SM1 and some SM2..old gen stores...have AR handle the load if they were in the area.

However that info wasn't supposed to get out...apparently, someone ended up yapping or email got out about it and it got out and the union is now holding at&t for it because they know, if they agree to something its for job protection and closing stores will hurt their overall power.

At&t actually agreed to most of the contract demands, a decent wage increase, health insurance cost would be kept lower, increase in commission, hell they even said they would allow sick days to be used without penalty and back to the rolling 6 month plan.

However their one ask was a reduction of employees which would of been about 30% or 4k employee's surpluses.

Union said they wouldn't agree to any job losses. Thats where we are now...

Another thing too..unless you are surplused or laid off, you will need to pay back tuition if you leave within 2 years. Total if less than a year, and i believe 50% after a year but before 2.

just fyi

I worked at T for a long time and when I left I got a huge new salary. 90% of the rsc's I saw leave in that time literally begged to get their jobs back within 2 weeks. Most don't take advantage of the the tuition reimbursement. At least managers can leave and get new management jobs while rscs are leaving to sell cars (lol) or work in a wharehouse

Compeltely correct. Att is paying me to get a degree i can use at a better job and reps can quit without paying back anything. Free 15k from randy.

Sad but true. People still believing in the T and thinking they have a future...not.

Any rsc using att for anything more than tuition relief and a temp paycheck is a retard too. Att is going to have such a small corporate operating structure. They are telling people in every video and press release. Managers are too stupid to just read. AR is everything by 2020. You are all gone.

Going to have to challenge you on this one. We do have some pretty good looking managers. Our new ARSM is actually pretty hot.

And if all of managers go away because of AR, where does leave us?
