"The relocation of jobs to call centers in Mexico, the Philippines, the Dominican Republic and other countries is one of the main issues in negotiations. A recent CWA report charges that in the Dominican Republic, for instance, where it uses subcontractors, wages are $2.13-$2.77/hour. "

The question is who benefits from economic growth, only upper management, only the 1%?

Problems competing in the market are not the fault of the hardworking people who do the work everyday or the union that helps them get a living wage and benefits.

Poor decisions by the slackers in upper management are the history of this companies problems but as always they and their wannabes point the finger at everyone else and take no responsibility themselves.

People... unions have become nothing but economy growth paralyzers. They are like the Debbie downer of anything exciting, innovative, and actually useful. They opposed Uber, Lyft, self service check out lines at groceries stores and the list goes on. They are even oppose to hiring more high-skilled immigrants calling the tech community "greedy" for wanting to explore foreign engineers. Wow!

Its a competitive market and if we are not revelant we are replaceable, sure! Don't show up to work, that's a brilliant idea. Show your actual team you are not a team player and you are ok with them taking your workload because you drank some 1940s kool aid

Look I am not trying to be rude, I just hope you don't ride the union wagon to oblivion

Wow you're on pace to make 270k this year? Clearly that's a lie. You're not even smart enough to make your lie believable. But let's pretend you have made 135k in "6 months this year" (it's May you uneducated, ignorant Trump-loving piece of human trash). If thats the case, then 1) you'll be laid off soon (no loss), and 2) T really is excited for your 2.5 day obesity-fest. Cheers!

What a JOKE. A 1/4 to 1/2 business day strike? With all of the issues surrounding the Trump administration, this will barely make it into the evening news.

No managers coming to help in our area , just store mgmt, strike is a joke, nobody even knows what they're striking for here, they were just told they can leave at 3 on Friday and picket for a couple hours then come back to work Monday . Literally. No organization in this area. Union is a joke, just another place that takes your money so they can line their pockets. What have they ever done for anybody? Better pay?? Try telling that to someone who makes minimum wage when RSC pay checks are 60-80 grand. And if it isn't , it's your own fault, if you hate your job----- LEAVE- nobody forcing you to stay. Enjoy your weekend off ( without pay). Where's your good old union when you lose 3 days pay? Oops.. Sorry...no help there.

Got the confirmation as well! No agreement by Friday and we're walking out. AT&T is bringing managers in from other areas to cover.

Yes! I just got confirmation as well. I'm a DTV tech from San Diego and they told us that unless the company comes up with a tentative agreement we're all going on strike.
