Nation wide petition to create our own union and get rid of CWA

CWA has ripped us off for years and does nothing for us. We should vote to get rid of them and start our own union

Nothing like using uppercase to prove what you're writing is true. I bet this was composed by a useless CWA representative who has nothing to lose no matter how this strike plays out.

@NgRx70S-4yyr The Verizon engineers and retail wireless employees are NOT Unionized and being walked to the door daily. FACT! not fabricated. The Union employees have a guaranteed 4 year deal with NO LAYOFF clause. FACT! not fabricated. The Union employees stuck together went on strike and Won a 4-year deal 12% raise kept all Medical kept all 401K (matched) kept fully funded pension. FACT! not fabricated. Did not give back a dime! Fact Not Fabricated.

I don't know what non-Unionized employees you're speaking? with but they do seem very disgruntled AND rightfully so. You should know the FACTS before you post.

Verizon CWA did it so can We!

I know some Verizon engineers and retail employees who disagree with your fabricated statement concerning union membership and its supposed great rewards. You are a CWA troll.

Well, the 40,000 Unionized workers at Verizon are earning 6 figures with a no-layoff clause after securing a contract with even more raises, outstanding Medical bennies and a 401K with a pension to boot. All the while today the "high skilled" Smart Non-Union employees in Verizon are getting laid off in droves. ( by the way asking how to join the Union)

So I ask you....Who really are the Smart one's today?

I have to disagree with the last poster just because you're in a union doesn't mean you have low skill sets! Just because your non-union doesn't mean your job can't go bye-bye too....

Knowledge is power but there is more power in numbers, which is the big advantage of labor unions. People sticking together to improve working conditions is power, we have much more leverage as a group than as individuals.

Like all unions where the skill set is low (CWA, SEIU, etc.) whatever gains are offset by their dues. I was a CWA member and after going back to school and improving my technological education and training am in a career where unions are not required. Knowledge Is Power.

Your simplistic comment is typical troll drivel. You twist the truth and make broad statements in an effort to get honest, informed people caught up in replying with specific facts.

What you say is nonsense, maybe Randy needs to get someone smarter to post his lies?

Apple/Google/Yahoo/Bank of America/Wells Fargo/Fedex/Cisco/Coca-Cola/Home Depot/Proctor & Gamble--I could list 50 more companies that pay great wages, provide good benefits, chances for advancement, a healthy work environment, and are not unionized. You CWA goons call me a troll, scab, or whatever you want too--These are facts. Liberals can't handle the truth.

@NgRx70S-1upe Good question just looked that up. Not only did CWA secure a contract with zero givebacks but raises for their members but they actually forced Verizon to Unionize their Wireless workforce. That's what I call kicking their a-- in a strike. Fair play to those CWA members.

A Union by definition is all being together as one....So the Union is only as good as it's members. I look over at the Unions in Verizon.....CWA being the largest, by the way, They stuck together, had a plan and literally brought Verizon to its knees in an 8-week strike that Verizon was hell bent on breaking the Union and ridding themselves of.

Those Union members did not let Verizon breath for one minute in any day of those 8-weeks....it was relentless....It was on the news every day... they chased the replacement workers on every job, they picketed the hotels where they stayed and literally annihilated the Verizon's plan.

Those Union members Won and were awarded a 4 year guaranteed contract with a no-layoff clause and raise! They didn't give back a dime. Not bad when the company's plans were to eliminated them altogether. They stuck together with a very good plan and executed it.
