I left Verizon 4 years ago. I was a former MCI schlep prior to WorldCom.
In a few years I am supposed get my MCI pension when I turn 65.
I hope Lowell is being a steward of my pension. Ha Ha

Yeah I know, i was just making a point. Actually sold all shared in early April.
Anybody that still has a pension had better gtfo while it is still intact, see the MCI / Worldcom schleps.
DFC....'dividend on May 1, sold stock on May 2'....... You do realize that you do not need to hold or own shares on May 1 in order to get the dividend. May 1 was simply dividend pay date for 'owners of record' a month earlier... You do know this ...right? There are 3 dates associated to any stock dividend...1) declaration date 2) record date 3) pay date .....
These people running Verizon, I would not trust them to run a hotdog stand! They were hired off the street, not promoted from within. They do not know the business. Look at our stock! They are clueless.
I'd be suprised if this sh!!t bag place was still around in 5 years. So would jp morgan.
Bjz and they said the Titanic was unsinkable too... VZ will be gone in less than three years, possibly absorbed by Vodafone US, or simply drawn and quartered for the remaining vultures to pick over. I sold before confidence bottomed out and you should too!
You'll regret.....VZ is just too big to fail no matter who is at the helm. Keep your shares unless you're pushing 75 and getting ready to C'est la vie.
VZ is a long haul money maker always has been....always will be. and the data doesn't lie: Buying and holding high-quality stocks over the long haul is the most tried-and-true way to make money in the stock market. According to J.P. Morgan Asset Management, holding the S&P 500 over a 20-year period between Jan. 3, 1996, and Dec. 31, 2015, would have resulted in a healthy gain of 555%. Mind you, this is through both the dot-com bubble and the Great Recession.
So my fair-weather friends who can afford the time to buy green bananas....hang on, and thank me 5 years from now.
I'm considering it.
Sell, SELL, SELL!
May 1st received dividend, May 2nd sold shares.
