If you do so choose to work at VZW don't get caught up in shady sales tactics. Have some honor and pride and sell with integrity. Don't be sneaky and don't try to hide what you're selling. Be upfront and be truthful.
You need an associates degree to work in a cell phone store? Why? A monkey could slam tablets, accessories and HUM's. Retail is a job for idiots. Someday, leadership will realize this and remove all commission and just make it a minimum wage part time job.

If you live in the northeast, speak to your guidance counselor. Verizon the company hires high school graduates for positions of technicians and customer service but not for wireless, only wireline. There are programs that Verizon participate in that hires out of high schools.
I am the OP - thanks, good advice - will look into resellers but always thought Verizon is solid and cool
Yes, a friend of mine is one of those guys who sells Vz phones and plans at costco. He's very tech oriented and started there right out of high school while he goes to college. If you are very comfortable with what the latest in phone tech has to offer then that sort of thing might be a good direction to go. Ditto on the others that Vz itself likely doesn't hire folks right out of high school.
Probably not going to happen with just a high school diploma. I agree with the previous reply; at least an associate' s and be a few years older. You may have a better chance with a Reseller.
Don't if you don't want a high stress job. If you do don't get too emotionally invested, just save the money.
In all honesty you probably won't get hired at least for a couple years. The youngest person in my store was hired when she was 21. We all have at least Associates degrees.
