Boss is headed out to a leadership conference that wasn't planned. Anyone else?

I wonder if in these leadership conferences all they do is watch clowns riding midgets while jerking off. The problem with the retail channel starts with the GM position and goes up from there.
Yea heard some of the same stuff. Sounds like this meeting is to plan for adjustments needed for store closures and more layoffs. One constant message from every leader is that there is more to come, but not sure when. No one will give you a straight answer because they don't want everyone to panic. But it's coming.
Leadership conference for retail needs to start with teaching directors about leadership (and integrity too), especially the one holed up in Tampa.
That sh-- was last minute, and not a planned in advance meeting. Other channels have similar meetings in the upcoming 2 weeks.
@esv you can say the same about every other market, and for dam sure you can say the same about hq. Pretty much everyone director and above is useless, clueless, overpaid, and contributing absolutely nothing but arrogance to the business.
This has actually been planned for a while. I've known about it for roughly 2 weeks since I work in the area this conference is taking place. They have a nationwide DM meeting ever 1-2 years. I'm sure they will discuss the roadmap for the business but this is in no way a "last minute" meeting.
Just retail leadership? Probably earn the right phase 10.
Same. All retail DM's in my market meeting in Texas.
Been hearing rumors about Indirect. This time I believe its for real.
Finalizing plans for upcoming rounds of layoffs and store closures.
There is a lot of leadership in the Southeast that could go. Way to many layer of management.
they are probably plotting ways to reduce more headcount. They should start with the new Southeast Market VP- she is a JOKE! The MOST Self centered and clueless person they could find. Another great move VZW!
yes.
