Nice that we sold off FiOS to overpay Vodaphone. Who in Management got a bonus for that?

@vfs it is almost shocking just how the landscape has changed in ten years. Go back ten years to 2007 for a moment. Landlines were being axed left and right by customers because flip phones were all the rage. The smart phone was just being introduced, albeit it was anything but smart when it first came out. FIOS was to replace all copper lines within the entire VZ blueprint in the next 5 years, then after fiber was laid throughout, techs could be laid off, with minimal staffing for troubles and installs. Wireless possibilities were exciting, and landlines were dinosaurs that were still assets but would become liabilities within five years, per all the "smart experts". Smartphones would have 5g technology by 2012. VZ would sell all landlines areas then come in and compete with those lame landlines with 5g wireless technology, which would be so superior that people would drop their wired connections to go with the best wireless provider, bar none, verizon wireless... Funny just how pretty much none of that ever happened entirely. Just like nostradamas' predictions that never really pan out entirely. Fast forward to 2017. VZ wireless stores are graveyards. Copper still exists, and the condition of that copper is in shambles and cannot handle the speed people expect now. Gone is the customer with one PC and maybe a laptop. They have been replaced by customers with 4 smartphones all needing data, and xbox360, and Netflix all at one, impossible by DSL speeds. Fios rollout has ceased. The wireless market has been saturated with all these ghetto companies like tmobile, catering to millenials, former verizon wireless customers, and welfare state takers/losers alike. It's likely Verizon isn't even a company by 2025, since the one business advantage they had (landlines thru out america) just

Has been sold out by an elderly fool. An elderly fool who should be fired, and publicly shamed. Instead, that elderly fool is about to retire with billions of dollars, leaving behind a diseased company with less than 7 years to exist. Shame.

Great... While I have no fios here so I'm paying $200 for 3 Meg dsl, a home phone I don't use with a constant ground hum on it, and directv that doesn't give me local sports teams since comcast are nazis... shut your fios mouth up til it's available EVERYWHERE. Some people, myself included, don't want to wait til 2021 for 5G
