@1rzc: He's under immense pressure from the board re: DirecTV Now and failed bid for spectrum. They're also upset that Time Warner deal may fall through due to financing issues.
But no real details offered as to why or if Randy is really bailing out with his golden parachute.

If the company took the money paid to Randy ($28,000,000) and used it to hire people to do productive work for $60,000 a year, we could hire 467 new employees.
