Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Hey it's STOP SCARING PEOPLE again

For the very angry and bitter people that keep commenting "Who cares the retail locations are dying." Three new smart store locations just broke ground in my region. Each smart store locations cost a minimum of 1.5 million dollars to erect. VZW wouldn't put out that kind of money if retail locations were drying and being sold to AUTHORIZED DEALERS, and Reps are going to all be gone........blah blah blah blah blah blah. Ok. I'm done.

Buck up buttercup! Right V Teamer? OP Must be in in some kind of weird 2013 time bubble back when everything was great in VZ land and network really mattered and wireless could get away with gouging the crap out of people. Before wireless and wireline merged and it all went down the crapper.

Lets get back to 2017 where Verizon is going to have to make serious concessions just to make its 5% divi payments.

Riiiiight! Because historically Verizon has NEVER invested a ton of money into an idea then abandoned it? Fios anyone? A few years back, (in Massachusetts at least) there was a HUGE push to have physical locations in strip malls and stand alone stores where you could pick up your Fios set top box, etc. The company dished out boatloads of money and signed hundreds of leases to rent retail space only to abandon them a few months later. And it's supposedly my pension and health insurance that's bankrupting the business, ok!

@N8b3LZa-ppg I'm actually not a retail retard sir. I'm a corporate office retard! Get it right. Lol. Why are you so upset?? You're giving off miserable vibes. Sheesh. Also those new smart store locations are not open yet...I clearly stated "broke ground." Also, they were approved by my counterpart 4 months ago. Have a good day.

Cool, I hope they do well. Because Verizon isn't doing well at all. You say $1.5 million, but smart stores (not so smart) were originally budgeted to be constructed at >$700K. You do know Verizon is shouldering over $100 billion in debt right? You know the stores that just opened were signed of on over a year ago right?

I wouldn't expect a retail retard to know anything about running a business or how financials work though. And I reaerate, why does anyone need to go into a cell phone shop in todays world?
