Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

May 4 & 5 Rep Layoffs.

It isn't happening. If you have been doing your job and follow rules, you will be fine. If you've been on PIP for an ungodly amount of time and you don't seem like you care anymore then guess what you should be gone anyway. Stop scaring people.

GM's had a meeting in the PNW yesterday with the Director and area VP "supposedly" to give reasons for the last layoff and the direction of the company, but the discussion needs to be held with the Frontline employees to let them know how the changes will help them in the long run. I just continue to see quotas going up and reps making less and less money every month

Management is really stressed about a big announcement tomorrow. Apparently big changes are in the wind. Any solid news?

This is what we get for having a former wireless jack-off in charge. I never thought I'd see the day I'd be wishing Seidenberg would come back.

As if we are supposed to have a ton of trust towards this company after the last two rounds of layoffs? VZ is not nearly as profitable as in years past, we are hemorrhaging customers to competitors, we are disconnecting pull through like it is going out of style and traffic is consistently down and we are supposed to just sit back and drink the kool aid like everything is fine?? No thanks. Got my parachute packed, see you on the ground.

Surpluses announced today in New England, so while it’s not a layoff it’s something. And you don’t have to be on a PIP to be affected, just unlucky enough to have low seniority.

Doing your job follow rules doesn't make you safe. The company can and will find anything no matter how small to get rid of you. Not to mention they can just easily continue skyrocketing quota. Quick easy way to get rid of people raise the quota.

How do you know that there are not any layoffs approaching in regards to the downside of the retail division. Since January 1 he northeast market alone had over 100,000 disconnects and that does not include telesales or agent locations. How is the other 6 areas doing? Layoffs are real but facts should be given as well

You won't be fine. Retail is dying, Verizon is dying. Store closures are happening one by one. Have an exit strategy. Get away from this futureless company.

Thank you for bringing nothing to the table. Next time at least bring paper plates, or.. anything of substance.
