sounds like they are getting ready to announce the sale of VES to Compaq.
@efk - I have heard the same thing from folks still working for Verizon and I would be shocked if it doesn't come to fruition. It is going to happen sooner or later....

I plucked this from an earlier subject about IT layoff possibilities:
"Was just confirmed after the management reorg announced this morning that layoffs are being announced next Thursday"
Same thing happened in November of 2015 - there was a big reorg notice and then the hatchet started swinging soon thereafter...Over 5000 layoffs
