Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

This website is full of old a-- VZ Comm people that have nothing better to do than post about FiOS and hopes that wireline comes back.

How many of you old asses are left? If only VZ would sell off the Northeast and we wouldn't have to hear about your hopes and dreams. VZW went down the tube when VZ Comm bought out Vodaphone's 45%. Go find something better else to do. And guess what? No one wants to go union.

Way the company is going could be a blow up, enron style...then even us on east coast wireline be hurting. It would not surprise me. I've made plans in case it happens.

@qzd, funny but the union employee in the east is safe until at least August of 2019, maybe beyond that if the contract is extended. The wireless employee and lower level wireline management on the other hand, well good luck sleeping at night. Not gloating here, just stating facts. Good luck to all.

Verizon Leadership is at an all time low and the greed is disgusting. Wake up wireless employees..... How they treat wireline is how they will treat you. Unionize Now!!!

Problem with wanting to be Google and Facebook is they already are tops at what they do with NO competition. They have money to blow on pet projects that they know will NEVER amount to anything. Verizon has INTENSE competition with NO money to blow yet they continue to do so, at an alarming rate. Baffles me this leadership(using that word loosley) remains in place.

@6upy Lowell was in his 50s in the 90s. He was already past his prime then. This old man will destroy verizon, and comcast wired and tmobile wireless will be the winners.

When the dust settles, Verizon will be mostly an online content/ad selling company. That's what they want to be. That's what they will be. Wireline, FiOs, and to some degree wireless, will all be under a different company.

Verizon wants to be Google/Facebook.

AOL?!?! Yahoo?!?? What's next, trying to revive Palm Pilots and Prodigy? Lowell needs to realize the 90's are over.

Ivan did see that the pipe needed to be bigger and took bold chance on Fios. Now look, Verizon pivots on what matters, big pipe to home, and focuses on old dot.com companies, wireless and selling almost every tangible thing they own. I wonder how they haven't ousted these bums yet?!

FIOS could have would have been an absolute monster but verizon picking a clueless greedy b1tch by the name of Lowell McAdam is the reason it never resulted in a win. A wireline CEO would have been a better choice than a man more suited for an assisted living facility. Comcast wins everyday Lowell continues to rot verizon via his CEO position.

FIOS has the option of being huge if done right.

And, yes that is wireline.

He's right. Go90 is the future. Those millennials are the only people who matter. Glad we're betting the farm on it. Anyone who doubts Verizon leadership just needs to look at Go90. It's the coolest thing.

The replies on here are funny because the OP was just bored and just trying to get your goats and he accomplished that nicely. How does he know this? Because I am the OP.

FiOS will be sold to Google, where Google will make another quadzillion dollars off of it. Verizon will be an afterthought.

The original poster is apparently a total idiot who doesn't have a clue and is part of the wireless mindset that they would be in golden land forever. Placing blame on wireline simply because it fits his agenda and knows nothing about the business so let's blame someone else for wireless' failure.

Hey genius, ever heard of over saturation of the market? What about competition? I'm sure those words are new to you. Hurry and run to a dictionary idiot before you forget the words!

You want to blame anyone? Then blame your wireless CEO and all the wireless executives who have made bad decisions. Blame those in charge in wireless who simply needed a paycheck over the years because wireless sold itself. Blame those who s---ed money out of wireless to make wireless seem so profitable from the beginning. Blame those in charge for hiring too many people in wireless because the money was flying in.

Just remember that without wireline there would be no wireless. Now go back to your schoolbooks and learn something intelligent instead of sounding like a total moron. Wireline folks saw this coming for many many years, apparently you're too dumb to have figured that out on your own. And by the way, remember that wireless decided to buyout Vodafone and of course Vodafone seeing what wireline saw jumped up and grabbed at the opportunity. Just remember that all these other little project invented to bring in revenue are ALL coming from wireless. Wireline folks know what needs to be done but we are watching people disappear from payroll because wireless cannot handle being wrong. Now go s--- your thumb in a corner. Idiot!

The other funny thing is that geniuses who ran wireless now run the whole enchilada so all of his ills come from them.

The OP is another one of these geniuses that does not understand that his precious wireless is useless without the backbone wireline network behind it. It must be fun to work at Basking Ridge, making spreadsheets and doing "the check" all day long, while the people you look down upon in the CO's actually keep the network running. Reality will eventually come calling for you too though. When Wall St tells Verizon that they need to improve earnings by two cents for the next quarter, (or else) you just might get that tap on the shoulder and be led out the door.

@MmvXx80 ---- If you don't stand up for yourself You'll be eating cat food when you reach the ripe young age of 60. You're nothing compared to corporate America and the insurance companies, and I hate to say it but also the united states government, I'm sure your smart enough to realize that......

OP you are a loser, a hater, and troll.

I will agree with you on one thing though; I also hope Verizon sells all their wireline.

As an employee, I would rather take my chances working for a new company... hopefully one that believes in their product again, that cares again about how they treat their customers and their employees. A company that has ethics.

As a consumer, the only product I would ever pay Verizon for is FiOS and only FiOS internet. If they ever sell that then I can at last say goodbye to Verizon forever both as an employee and as a potential customer.

Goodbye toxic, abusive, dysfunctional management!

Goodbye go90!

Goodbye IoT!

Goodbye Yahoo!

Goodbye AOL!

Goodbye Verizon!

And good riddance!

Sell off New York, Boston, Washington, Philadephia so we don't have to hear from the employees? You must be one of those Wireless geniuses that squandered all Verizon's money. Please go away.
