@4uyi If you spent 4 years without a pay increase because you were at the top of your band, then that is on you. NO ONE told you to stick to that same job. You could have easily moved up if we are to believe that you've worked so hard over the years. So stop the bull that you spew and yeah coming from another manager. You sit around waiting for the pay raise that doesn't come for 4 years, you get what you deserve. Do not get mad at the union because you sat in your seat waiting to be rewarded. Don't say that there are no other opportunities when many others are moving around the company enjoying positions in other groups with pay increases. Dumb move!

Because management is Not Union. We as union members still have our pensions

Without the Union , mgmt wouldn't have the salary &benefits as good ? Hey clueless my pension was frozen in 2006 thanks for that ! My health care costs are five times what union pays and not nearly as good . I just had my First raise in in four years last year because i was at the so called top of my pay band. What a joke . In mgmnt if you perform your rear off you deserve to be rewarded and not put in a society niche of comparable engineering pay .First level mgmt in the engineering/ const side bust their A $$ with vastly reduced numbers over the last 15 years and take all the risk . Read no union protection. We are men and women that survive on our merit and work ethic. Twenty nine years of surviving rif after rif only to be rewarded with the work load of the others who retired, or riffed. You know nothing of what it takes to survive as a first level. The union hasn't done squat for mgmnt . We get things taken away after New contracts. Can you say rob Peter to pay Paul? This is why I recently retired and gave my mngr a 10 minute heads up on my last day that I retired. Filed my paperwork on line and done. No more insulting year end reviews after you work 50 to 60 hours a week for years. Thanks for all you have done !

The union is the only reason the wireline has good paying jobs with good benefits. Take the union away and good Ole VZ will contract everything out, cut pensions, Healthcare, etc... Verizon brings in billions every year, the can afford to pay the people who build and maintain network a good salary!

Pay no attention to @2hag.

What does he really know about any "back room deal"?

Was he there? I doubt it.

Look at Germany doing a great job and WITH unions! It is only in USA that Unions "just can't work" I wonder why?

Was it Unions that "bankrupted cities and companies" (lol) or was it really ASTRONOMICALLY RISING HEALTH CARE COSTS?

How else is it cities and companies were able to pay this medical in the past, but can no longer do so?

@2hag you should think for yourself and stop believing everything you see on FOX. They are leaving a lot of things out of the story.

Then he concludes his post by threatening to shoot people. Someone should investigate this internet tough guy he sounds like a terrorist to me.

@2hag, what a piece of work you are. The Secretary of Labor stepped in because 40k people were on strike for over a month and this just bugs you to death doesn't it? It's not a conspiracy, you moron. It is what SHOULD happen when two sides cannot reach an agreement. I love how you consider getting the two sides together to iron things out as the Democratic President getting freebies for his base. You mean working people who just didn't want things taken away from them by a company making almost two billion dollars profit a month? Jesus H Christ, take off your Sean Hannity Knee pads and join the human race! You sound like maybe you are very jealous of working people that have union representation. Are you a manager in constant fear that you're going to lose your job because the company needs to increase earnings a penny for the next quarter? If so, your anger is Soooo misplaced. It's those up above that you should be mad at.

This for the Union troll .You and your union buddies stood shoulder to shoulder and got you a good contract . You showed em tough guy ! Here is the part you left out . Do you remember the sequester when the Federal mediator stepped in ? You forgot about that little tidbit of info. That Democratic hack of a President was lining the pockets of his sheeple voting base. They did some back room deal that of course compromised mgmt employees to be riffed and American taxpayers with some sweetheart collusion deal probably over wireless spectrum or some govt contract. Democrats are the enemy of this country and the Unions are 95% Democrat voting blocks. Every union in this country weakens the very fabric that this country once stood for. Unions have bankrupted more cities and companies and caused more damage then the Chinese ever could have taking away our mfg. The absolute corrupt Union leaders stealing from the dues payers. When the shooting starts please wear your CWA / IBEW logos then you can march shoulder to shoulder to the front line when the civil war begins. Get fkd

The build is happening. In my CO they have installed splitters on FIOS frame and ran APC tie pairs to UPC LGX frame on multiple floors. They are using the "subscriber " fibers to push out fios. I work in a very large central office in NYC.

Wireless is killing it??

U mean there employees . ..

If wireless was not hurting from t mobile they wouldn't be fire ing employees left and right.

How does this show positive growth ?

Fire ing thousands of OS/ES employees before Xmas season , increasing customer wait times in stores .

Closing 6 wireless call centers nation wide , increasing customer wait times on phone.

150 Blow 90 employees fired

Wireless growth is flat that's why they got rid of NPS CEI bonus and STI is only 80% .

did you read AT&T tried to cut employees and send jobs overseas but their UNION protected them. Now over 100k AT&T employees got guaranteed jobs and a 1k signing bonus.

Wake up and smell the coffee .

The only way to guarantee jobs is Union.

Meanwhile last spring 40k landline union employees fought for their jobs and 40k kept their jobs .

Just think about this ...

NYC sanation workers

MTA busy drivers

Both make over 100k after 5 years #UNION

Should I keep going

CO EDISON

FIOS

NYPD

(Sports players)

Should I continue ? ?

(Note I am a fired wireless employee )

Wireless profits are largely smoke and mirrors since all their expenses are billed to the land line side. Nice try though.

@1wbg - Lowell doesn't know math. He thinks 1+1 = Blow90.

Fran Shamclown and Tyson Chicken guy don't know math either even though they are paid millions to know it. They are like: "we got this b--ches network is king....Oh $hit! We are getting our a$$es handed to us! Unleash unlimited!" Total back peddling retards.

8 to 12 percent growth in Wireline/fiber/cable companies as per Wall Street......0% Percent growth in the Wireless industry as per Wall Street.

You do the math. Lowell did too, and as much as it may kill him, he has to please the investors and Wall Street.

Those Union boys must have a horseshoe embedded up there A$$

Bad idea, expensive product, terrible support

Many of us have known that it was a bad idea to stop the fios buildout. Customers want large bandwidths as the internet is a part of everyone's daily lives. There is no comparison to cable and definitely not to 5G. No one wants to deal with slowdown of traffic and fios is the best option of the 3. 5G is currently still conceptual and with that has a large buildout and relies on wireless technology; again not good in large cities where reception is a problem with 4G in buildings.

Please, sell my tired wireline a-- to Google! I know 3 wireline supervisors with CXM experience who got poached by Google and got 7 figure signing bonuses.

That's where all the money is now that wireless has failed and isn't bringing in the big cash that it once was with overpriced plans. Wake me up in 40 years when that 5G finally works consistently.

FIOS? Who needs FIOS when you have 5G?

It seems the leaders of Verizon have no real direction. They just stumble from one fiasco to the next spending $$$.

I'm sure they need to fatten up FIOS a bit before selling it off to Frontier or Google
