The ides of march was a warning Julius Cesaer got from a blind prophet warning him of his upcoming death. It's a shakespearian play. The ides of March referes to the day of March 15th or 13th. Romans didn't have calander days. Just different names representing different parts of the month.

My take would be to pretend to be as dumb as your current supervisor, many can't handle that pressure of knowing that the don't know much , to put it lightly , thay is the kind of an agreement we get.
