Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

If You Want To Stay In The Company Apply For Wireline Manager Jobs, Please.

I would rather work with Verizon company experienced employees than the walk-ins that are literally being hired off the streets.

Even worse, these no nothings hires are being "trained" by the most dysfunctional managers that we have...It's a recipe for failure for everyone in Verizon.

These walk-ins are being poisoned by managers that shouldn't be working in a McDonalds let alone a top 20 fortune 500 hundred company. It's insanity.

We are doomed Help!!!

I think they get tax credits for hiring vets.

Managers used to work with techs who got things done. Now they just harass all techs.

Customers used to be important.

Only numbers matter anymore.

They have created a toxic work atmosphere where it just doesn't pay to worry about anything but CYA.

The whole company is on CYA mode. Great job inspiring people.

If a manager is abusive and you have no witness, the company will not help you.

Many of these managers are doing and saying things that are actually illegal. The company will drop them fast if you have evidence. No evidence and you will likely be ignored.

But the question is who created this atmosphere where (fake) numbers are more important than customers and where abusive people thrive?

I left in 2015 after facing VP and Director retaliation for my refusal to to monkey with results reporting. This same pair created a position for the Director's daughter while the organization was going through a RIF. With this type of "leadership" is it any wonder the company is tanking? (This NJ based VP also bragged about using her parents' address to "qualify" for in-state tuition to the University of Maryland for her daughter). The credo is a joke.

Letting the first and second line managers conduct the interviews is madness. They are not qualified to even speak with the customers let alone hire into Verizon. So now they are hiring candidates that will be no threat to them and let me tell you....That is a very low bar. Now you can imagine who these future managers will be.

The bar has been set very very low at Verizon.

They are being interviewed by the 1st and 2nd line managers before being hired! so our insecure incompetent managers are hiring non-threating candidates to mold into idiots. We are getting the worst of the worst so their jobs are protected.

At one time you promoted from within, and then you would have an experienced manager that actually knew the job. Today you have off the street clueless people that are carrying Sprint and Boost mobile cell phones,

Great product? I guess...

Verizon has already laid off and demoralized it's talent.

Only bottom feeding pond scum are left. Q1 results are a perfect representation of what's running this telco trash bin.

After the giant layoff of Q4 2015 everything went to $hit. Coincidence? I think not...

Great product...Great workers...Even a Great company, but absolutely horrible vindictive managers that put their ego's and personalities ahead of the Company, and now these managers are training new hires? It just doesn't make any sense at all. The dysfunctional cycle will never end now.
