Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

WEST STRIKE!

Got the word from my union rep that we're going in strike May 1st. If we do go on strike we better do it for 1 month to show T that we mean business.

@1ejl I assure you West Core techs make PLENTY. I know some that are bringing in $200k+ with OT. It's time for the old timers to retire!

Stop fighting people! Everybody needs a meaningful secure fair paying job in life. ATT can afford to provide them because they have a strong customer base. If executives at ATT decide to take away good quality jobs then thats greed and we all lose. The enemy is greed. Not each other.

They should postpone any job action until it would hurt the company more, be more strategic and not let the company dictate the time frame.

The union made a critical error in going out last time for 24 hours.

Any leverage they thought they had at the bargaining table already left the

room with their so called "24 hour strike" .

Anyone remember the outcome of the Southern California supermarket strike of 2003–04?

4+ month strike with 70,000+ union members out and they still lost.

Companies have deeper pockets than Unions and will always prevail in labor disputes.

Union Power began to wane in the 70's and became useless in the 90's with the invasion of Made in China goods.

Unfortunately won't happen, I really feel sorry for you guys, with AT&T expect the unexpected and as far as CWA is concerned, look after yourself and family, You know what needs to be done, do not expect others to look after you careers anymore, there are NONE in this company

You guys do not have the resources to go a month and neither does the union. Go ahead, I would love to you twits beg for a job. Lets see how long your kool-aide drinking resolve is standing on some picket sign complaining about this and that. Most of you will cross the lines or work elsewhere. Most of you will not support the union and wave your cry baby signs.

The onl ones that can play these socialist games are the ones that either have a spouse who can support your games, or someone that does not have high overhead. Most will look for other jobs.

Do it! These things have never worked out for anyone. All it does is stroke your blind ego and make you think you have some sort of power. Do it!

LOL I'll believe it when I see it. A 1 month strike? Ha ha ha ha ha. Nah if there's a strike it'll be at most 24 hours and then back to BAU.
