Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Quotas

Quota should have always been a group effort.

Would wash out shady practices and encourage team work among reps and create an overall positive experience for the customer.

Then again the company rather its reps have insane quotas so they get desperate and start bundling stuff into plans without fully disclosing.

Seen enough of that during my time with Verizon. Hell even now I'm hearing the company doesn't want people on higher plans being move to unlimited without having some device like him or jet pack slammed on the customer.

If your damn products were that good they would sell themselves without slamming customers.

Where is the hell is a personal quota 60 new you moron?? I'm in one of the wealthier (if not wealthiest) areas of the country, high traffic store, and my quota last month was 25 new. So shut up unless you're speaking about something you actually know about.

Reps come off as they don't want to be bothered for two reasons.

1-Verizon never properly trained any reps for proper troubleshooting for any tech problems. That in itself is wrong. You want reps to assist with tech support ensure they're properly trained. Devices are a lot more complicated than back in the day so there's enough reasons to justify training your staff to properly troubleshoot.

2-Quota. Again when you have such ridiculous numbers that you expect reps to meet you will have judgement calls like this made where the rep rather not risk losing a likely sale by taking time with a customers tech problem. Now granted sometimes it will pay off as stated below the point is if quota was easier to obtain you would have reps more willing to take the time customers need.

As one of the affected by the layoff, a woman was turned away because a specialist did not wish to take the time to deal with her "tech issues" - an hour later, she returned to our store and another specialist assisted her, took 15 minutes, and discovered the need for additional devices. Tada #1 new! When people are losing their jobs, and we're paying top dollar for "specialists" who cannot be bothered to take each and every guest, regardless of the circumstances, to discover opportunities for growth and value, it's no wonder we have layoffs.

Nobody wants to work hard to benefit someone who can't or want. You literally do that every single day you step foot in that building. Your sales are filling up the pockets of the executives and how do you get thanked? Oh here's more layoffs and now you have to do even more workload.

No way a successful rep would want dead weight dragging down their commission check, yes go complain that all reps lie and dont disclose , no those reps should be held accountable and action should be take but in no way will grou quota work, the best teps will have to carry the weak , that wont fly.....remember communism? Socialism? How did that go? Nobody wants to work hard to benefit someone who wont or cant !

Oh cause individual quotas are so much better. Oh have fun getting 60 new 120 renew and 12k revenue. Oh and if you do all that your commission check is 1500. Yeah that's fair

If you think team quotas are a good idea, you aren't too swift.
