There used to be a team of five or six women based out of the Irvine CA wireless Call Center called the employee engagement team.
They planned parties, kickoffs, and contests. Yep, it to five or six of them to pick a venue. The worst was their leader.
Of course when they all got rif-ed their leader got moved to Chandler AZ. She's their problem now.
Good riddance to all of them.
Lots of male posturing here. At least in wireline, I've had some good female execs as well as bad ones and had some really terrible male ones (as well as good ones). Hard to believe they are all universally worse in VzW, s-xism seems much more likely!
My experience in the Irvine CA call center was all of the female ADs weren't worth the air they were breathing.

Part of the VZW culture. Promoting women with no skills why so ever. I've never met a women in VZW leadership that was qualified to answer the phones, let alone lead.

This is the same story I have watched as an employee for 15 years at GTE and Verizon from the inside and 5 years from the outside. From the landline side, they pushed good people out because of philosophical differences and compensation and kept the average performers or the cheerleaders. Verizon tries to adapt to market changes but cannot get out of its own way and ends up destroying companies they acquire. Examples: Terremark and Cybertrust and the declining sales of the small medium and global customers. The only business they are good at is the regulatory high barrier to entry markets. If they have to compete with common business competition and entrepreneurs they continue to fail Waiting for the Go90 (so far a bust), AOL, Things space, Fleetmatics, Sensity and Complex. Internal conflicts and power struggles continue between wireless and wireline as to who is in charge. The best example is the Smart Cities program that Verizon thinks they are winning (in the Salseforce reports) but at&t is establishing beachheads and wins in markets that VZW had dominated. Why? They gave the project to the VES people from the Northeast that think they understand how the rest of the US state and local governments think and operates. Time for a change and drain the swamp in Baskingridge.

Shes a useless leader. But shes lowells cheerleader. Thats all that matter at vz. Its better to be wrong and stand with the masses that to be correct and stand alone. Look at lowells education, nothing qualifies him to be CEO.
