Ya know to the person that said if you only did your job right it the first place. That comment makes me mad!! I got a leading on my last review and did my job great!! I was an OS that got put in an RSS position. I was with the company for about 14 years and for you to say this is complete BS!

This is false. Verizon does its cutting on Thursdays of a pay week. With that being said, only people who they were unsuccessful at contacting yesterday, would be impacted today. Such as if someone was on leave or vacation.
Verizon has repeatedly demonstrated they will sever employment with no notice for any reason. So as Verizon employee. Consider yourself extremely expendable.
And no, not all companies operate this way. And it is not okay.
