Phase 3 to come soon!!

Today was tough for a lot of people. Some great managers and RSS I've worked over the course of 10+ years. But we are still not safe. Who knows, they will probably end up doing the same to the remaining managers that they did to the RSS (Get rid of them in 5 months) These so called "KEYHOLDER POSITIONS" are a joke. A slap in the face to everyone of us who lost our jobs.

Intel quotes this was just the beginning of some big changes that are coming in the upcoming months.

Phase 3 will eliminate more DMs, GMs, SMs and SS.

Phase 3 consists of:

Store closures (some converted to instore pickup only locations)

District Realignments (Because of the closures)

These changes will eliminate all 4 positions in certain stores.

And then bottom 20% of reps elliminated as the will no longer be held accountable for "COMMITMENTS" only "PERFORMANCE" going forward (Scorecard all over again)

Ya they are. What makes you think you are bullet proof? Remember you are an at will minion.

I think that they should start getting rid of all baggage. Why should they keep reps that consistently under perform while they get rid of people who may not be commissioned reps but performed at their job. There are far too many solution managers in the stores. How much is that costing the company?

Oh and yes I am one of the people who got let go in October. After 10 years it hit me hard but I landed on my feet. The company is not the great employer it once was. I took my severance and all my lines of service to another carrier and now I am happy I was left go. It was way too stressful and you had no time for a personal life.

I am sure all the CEO and COO are living quite comfortably making millions and could care less about any of the employees.

The OP is spot on. I was impacted yesterday in B2B. It was expected... In my opinion and from my analysis: The landscape of retail will change drastically. VZW is looking to reduce overhead, inventory costs etc. The more simplification the less VZW employees are needed. This is not to say you won't see VZW stores, they will just be authorized retailers. VZ will hold far less operating expenses. Far less in headcount, much fewer people on the rolls, healthcare etc. At VZW you need to read between the lines on every single quarterly call. Webcast etc. Good luck to all and your future endevours.
