Hunger Games: Verizon edition

May the odds be ever in your favor.

After spending the last 2 days reading through all of these posts in an obsessive manner, I've come to 1 conclusion. No matter what role you're in, on a daily basis you have to make yourself valuable and set yourself apart for instances just like this. If you do that you'll be fine. Your role may be eliminated but if you're an asset you'll be placed elsewhere. If you clocked in and clocked out everyday doing the minimum, you'll get minimum opportunities in this situation. It's sad and scary and I'm in the same boat as many of you so I feel your pain. I have no solid answers from the horses mouth at this point so I won't send anyone down a spiral, but if tomorrow we are let go I wish those of you who put in an effort the very best.

As one of the people who was let go in the last round, I can tell you that this is just what people tell themselves to help them get through the day. 12 year employee, all leading ratings, promoted several times, received recognition from high level executives. My manager cried when he gave me the news. At the end of the day, it's cost/benefit and you're a number on a spreadsheet.

Performance wont mean crap if they close stores. Ive seen close stores with amazing reps and leaderships because the lease was too high and 0 guarantees of a new job in another store. Maybs this time people will be let go based on performance? Who knows? My last store had a great manager and 3 of the district top reps we still got canned and were told to reapply nationwide if we wanted to keep working.
