Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

It's like an ATM, or self check out at the grocery store. WSAP was made to replace specialized inventory employees.

When a phone shows up missing it take a specialist 3 hours to research and find that I cannot find where it went. In the end verizon has the same $ loss as they did before it was researched in the first place and to them it does not matter if the store is to blame or the warehouse its still the same $ that is written off. The basic inventory management and merchandising is not a difficult task for anyone to do. Can be done in 30 minutes daily.

I don't think I'm getting fired (I'm an RSS), because my boss actually said if I couldn't make the Friday morning meeting it was no big deal, they'd "give me the rundown" (their words, not mine) when I got back from vacation next weekend. Something tells me there would have been a different choice of words if I was getting axed.

Also, the reps (whoever is still left anyway) would probably unionize if I got the boot, since I am 100% on top of their inventory needs where the managers don't have time for it. They realize what they sell or not IS their paycheck, not mine so they need my skills.

Lol good luck with. I did absolutely everything so that the managers could do one thing, focus on sales. Grow the company. Make themselves and reps more money. Now their attention will be on that pos Wsap, omm, inventory, organization, demo loops, credits, and much more. They will struggle, reps will have less attention, numbers will be affected. I get having an Rss is a luxury but don't simplfy or take for granted what a great one can do.

30 mins daily??? What u drinking??? Put the cool aid down and go ahead and try do to returns (phone, acc) while people bugging you. Try counting the money, a count and merch in the morning. Not gonna happen.

Completely dependent on store volume.

My experience at being at high-volume flagships to B-level stores is that the RSS role is still necessary. Having one person being the go-to consistently for Ops related matters is essential. When my store didn't have an RSS for about 4 months, it was a sh---storm, too many cooks in the kitchen, situation when 3 managers were responsible for the same tasks.

I hope they don't all get let go because there really is a place for RSS in certain stores.
