I'm a former RM & I can tell you after being there for 15 years and through 2 mergers I saw managers & higher ups figure out how to PIP people out one way or another. Last Fall I saw a high performing sales rep get a written warning for his "behaviors" even though he was #2 on the store's scorecard. When they implemented the Earn the Right selling process it allowed them to write up due to behaviors, not just performance. We had 6 observations on this rep that showed he had not offered accessories even though he had committed to offering a bundle with ever new/upgrade during his 1on 1 at the beginning of the month. His accessories weren't even that bad for the month, but the DM said they needed to be better based on the volume of devices he was selling.

July is the next wave. It's bon voyage to the XO crew at that point plus some more wireline groups.

I agree with whomever posted to stop waiting for a handout. Tired of employees taking advantage of "stress leave." Get out of here!! Taking advantage of the system. If you're so unhappy there's a door at every store :)

Makes me feel better about what? I'm not being laid off nor PIPd. Your response is not only wrong but rude.

That response makes no sense. The payroll, commissions, and expenses associated with keeping an employee active for as long as it takes to pip someone out is much more expensive than what this severance offers. This topic is clearly above your head. And it's easy to say what your saying because it makes you feel better.

When you're PIPd out you are still making the company money. You are still in the store taking care of troubleshooting and brown boxes upgrading customers while on PIP. PIPing is way cheaper for the bottom line. With pip you still go to work. You're still in the store making them money as opposed to severance which allows one time to find somewhere else while not being financially crippled.

Why do people stick around if they are so unhappy?

Furthermore this idea they are saving money by not giving sales reps severance is dumb. The pip process takes a lot longer than what most would receive in terms of weeks of pay. It's an act of if congress. You are only asked to hit 80% to goal to avoid even entering the process. Then it's 4 stages. If you were pipped out in 4 months straight (which NEVER happens) that's 16 weeks you were paid. That would take 8 years of service to match that in terms of severance. On average it would have been cheaper to give a severance.

If it's such a horrible place, you should quit and stop waiting for a handout
