All RSS in SC04 gone with severance...cannot reapply due to hiring freeze....rumor is that they will do reps on the 7th
GL06 2 in my store let go (myself included) 2 more that i know of.
@ede I'm mostly sure the position was only created to see us through WSAP conversion, which would explain why nothing happened January 27th as was rumored, and why conversion dates were moved up and up. In keeping with culture, that was a detail not disclosed to the lowest levels. I'm not certain whether my immediate managers/DM were aware of this last year, or if they're considered too junior for such plans.
@lib I'm not certain they were "told to leave right away." Traditionally when Verizon lays off workers, those affected are permitted to take the remainder of the day off with pay, and then return on their next scheduled day to work the remainder of their payroll. This would appear as though the individuals were walked out and told to not come back, but in my market we will be in stores until May 5th.
I bear no ill will toward my managers, nor do I care to compromise my severance or potential for an offer of another position with Verizon, so I intend to work the next month BAU, and make sure my managers are prepared for when I'm not there to answer their questions or help them.

Confirmed all Great Lakes RSS were dispatched at 11:00AM this morning. I returned from a trip and was given the news. West coast is just now receiving their alerts. Speaking to management and contacts in other locations nationwide the transition for wSAP was supposed to start on mid March but was pushed up 3 1/2 weeks ahead of schedule. Now this is all making sense as to why. Not withstanding, certain areas/stores are offloading the duties to subordinate management or mid performing specialists, which begs the question why are you eliminating this position after six months? I feel like I was used and abused to get a conversion/update done for logistics and now I'm being thrown away.

The RSS poition officially does not exist nationwide. They were told to leave right away due to how bad it got last time. TN

Can confirm PN01 through 05 all RSS gone. Was told it's company-wide. PN02 lost their Ops analyst and the Sr Manager (the Ops Analysts' boss).
Ps01 correction, I PERSONALLY don't expect to find anything, don't lose hope for yourselves!
All rss positions have been eliminated...I was let go and if you want to apply for the newly created solutions manager you need to stay and apply..otherwise you are on the payroll until may 5th and don't need to come to work as there is no incentive to do so...
Ps01 all gone. Can still apply elsewhere in the company but don't expect anything.

Great Lakes Cenrtal, I'm an RSS who was notified today. May 5th last day, opportunity to apply for another position. I was also told additional openings will be posted tomorrow? And to wait to see what comes open... I was also given the rest of today off with pay, work as normal until May 5th
All RSS in my district gone. Was told they will bring in more SS im assuming this is probably to PIP out the current. So sh--ty.

Rss is gone, all were laid off in Richmond at 11am today. Seems to be the consensus with everyone else posting nationwide as well. Sorry :(

It's a nationwide layoff. It's all RSS. Should really only post if you've been confirmed not laid off
