Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

- What is the word on the new In Home Experts program that is launching in the Northeast? Buddy system with DTV Installers to sell phones?

Reps randomly sent out to houses in hopes of selling whatever can be sold - what about the safety? Appointment at night and other times without an installer? It is all about the selling and "supposed" service.

Will this program last? How long?

What a joke..... most of the door-to-door U-verse sales people lie their asses off to make a sale!

They can't sell DL or Insurance due to some type of restriction and licensing. Basically they're being sent to homes that supposedly don't have att for cell and they're expected to sell them while setting up apps for DTV and anything else the installer usually does. The pay is crap and it's only a matter of time before all the people that took these jobs will be straight door to door cell phone sales ppl.

The program was created to get more out of the customer by selling to them inside their home. Where if they are installing DTV they might also be interested in digital life or phone service if they currently don't have att.

They are giving it a 2 year run, with more then likely it being shut down sooner.
